Description
This is my main theme. It mixes the colours of Windows 98, the sounds of Windows XP (start up and shut down sounds from Windows 2000 beta[?]), and the 3D cursors of Windows 95 (with a custom hand icon because there was none). It's even complete with the familiar "Flying Windows" screensaver! The wallpaper is a recoloured version of ntimage.gif, from Windows XP.
Update 2015-01-08: Fixed hand cursor .

Ah, the Windows 95 psuedo 3D pointer. I really wish it was kept as a pointer option in later versions of Windows, especially considering Standard, Black and Inverted were all just as popular to use and got to stay on for 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. Otherwise, very interesting theme combining visual and audible elements from various versions of Windows past. I especially love the minimalist classic wallpaper, very fitting.

Thanks!
Yeah, as much as it doesn't really fit well with the Aero look, it would have been nice to have them. I can't speak for the rest of the 9x series, but the 3D pointers were in Windows XP, although it was slightly different and not as complete. There was also a bronze version and a few animated themes.
I bet the Hands cursor theme would also fit nicely with this theme.

and though I'm not sure if it installed all the content that way but the visual was the main thing I was looking for.

Sincere apologies, I haven't really been on dA recently. I noticed a bug in my packaging script that may have been the cause, but it hasn't prevented me from installing any of these themes on systems that I've tested it on. I'll have a look at it when I get the chance, but I'm not sure when that will be.
At the very least, I'm glad you have it working (sort of).

Got around it by extracting the file as .cab and installing the .theme instead. No idea why it didn't work directly though.

I can't seem to install it. I have Red Wine theme by you right now and it worked fine when I clicked the themepack. This one does nothing when I double-click it. Just shows the loading icon for a half a second.

Just want to mention the finger on the hand cursor is off a few pixels.

Oh, is it? I've used this cursor theme for a couple of years now and I've never noticed.
It was my first time making a cursor, and if I remember correctly, I just modified the original hand cursor (well, edited it as an ICO in The GIMP; maybe that's why).
Oh well, I don't think I'll bother to fix it, but feel free if you think you can.

No luck, the only program I can find that can even open it can't seem to fix the issue (not even sure what the issue is, lol). I checked the default hand cursor, that one seems to work fine & even though the thumb extrudes past the point of the index finger as it should, the index finger is still the point of contact.

I've got it!
It has to do with the hotspot; that is, the point where the click is registered. Saving it as an ICO changed the format slightly (ICO and CUR files are very similar) and removed the hotspot. Interpreting the resulting ICO file as a CUR file gave a hotspot of (1,4), which is in the space to the left of the finger, about a third of the way down. A reasonable hotspot is (5,1).
I looked at the CUR format structure and it seemed simple enough to fix by hand (editing the byte values).
I've updated the theme with the new cursor. Just delete the installed theme and reapply it.
Alternatively, place the cursor in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\Windows Hybrid\, switch to another Classic theme, and switch back.

I did a Windows 98 start button if anyone is interested in one, it even has the "click border".

It's a classic theme, nothing wrong with that

Thanks for your support, silver9990. Not to encourage sirnobody2, but he does have a point: depending on how you look at it, Classic might not be considered a Visual Style because it's hard-coded into the shell and doesn't use the Visual Styles engine.

You're welcome. True, technically speaking it's not a style but it's not like there's really a proper place for themes
