Description
So... yeah... There are a few reasons I'm posting this. 1) to help out the members in so that they can always post the best characters they can, and 2) because the amount of Mary Sues that exist in the MLP FIM community is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of hand.Now to be fair, there was a tutorial like this that I saw a while back, but I haven't been able to find it since. So I decided to make my own :3

I've been trying my best to get a good pony design for myself. I used to have an Ailcorn but I knew that was ridiculous so now she's a unicorn. I think what I have is kinda decent but it could be better I suppose. lol

I hope my ponysona isn't one of the bad ones! I based her off of myself (because I'm unoriginal and afraid of accidentally making a ponysue) and my other "OC"s off of my family and fiance. I guess that's a beginner thing, though. 
ANYWAY I love the way the ponysue got more and more upset as you made her normal

Usually, characters that are related to canon characters is considered to be a mary - sue trait.
Especially since it doesn't make much sense why Celestia would have a distant cousin. I mean, yes, but why were they never mentioned beforehand ??
You know what I mean ?

eh. that's ok. this is more a guide to help pony creators stay away from the Suish aspects of MLP OC's. But why does it have to be an alicorn? if you can't answer that, then change it.

Well, the thing is I think alicorns have some magic in them, not just in horns, I mean... Because Rocky has some... unnatural "quirks" to him.

Well he has this thing with his eyes, where they lose color, the pupils grow and if you look into them that you can see the two bars of his cutie mark.
The problem is that his other senses become nonexistant. (He can't speak, hear, or smell anything) and if he uses it for too long he passes out.
When he does this, he can see better, and in the dark, and he can use this kind of "Magic" that can remove spell effects from others.
......... writing that all out makes him seem overpowered, now...

I'm just trying to push people to make their characters better and more fleshed out. there's nothing wrong with having a special lineage, but there needs to be a fesable reason for it. Now what you described is very interesting, but I can't seem to figure out why he would need cat like vision... hm... i would assume that if he was the son of an alicorn, he'd maybe have something like uncontrollable bursts of telekinises or maybe short spurts of a sort of "spidy sense." Like if something was about to fall, he could feel it and jump out of the way... Something like that.

He has that sixth sense you describe, but his eyes are a trick he controls. It isn't random and he only uses it when he REALLY needs to.
Oh, and he carried a dead ringer... except it broke, so he doesn't carry it anymore...

as a crossover joke, he carried around that gold pocketwatch from TF2 that feigned your death when you were injured and made you invisible. But he broke it when Dissonance attacked him.
