Ah, so in your "universe", both the Ferasans AND the Kzinti exist. From what I understand (read: assume) for "Star Trek Online", the developers created the Ferasans as a replacement for the Kzinti so they would not have to slog threw all the red tape (and money) to use Larry Niven's space-faring "rat cats". It also had the advantage of not being "restricted" by certain concepts surrounding the Kzin, such as the females having the intelligence bred out of them. With the Ferasans, both sexes have the smarts to build and pilot warp capable spacecraft.
Again, this is just an assumption.

Yeah, i don't have to dance around red tape, so i can reference anything i like from star trek. just have multiple cat species, and they all probably hate each other, well, the Kzin and the Ferasans probably hate each other, and neither are too fond of the Caitians because they are all buddybuddy with the Federation
