Description *EDIT* Made adjustments to the spider's color. The blue hue was bugging me.

I found this beauty during a Renaissance festival near my city. It's a new ground, so there was still a lot of wildlife out there. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a regular garden spider. It scared the hell out of me when I first saw it(I'm also not going to lie. I screamed like a little girl.), but I couldn't wait to get out of character and start photographing it. I think this is the best picture that came out of it.

As a side note, I can't get enough of that web. I still wonder why they make the pattern down the middle...

I have some pics of these too. Yeah its a regular garden spider 'harmless' but HUGE. That's a female. The pattern is from a male. when they 'court' the male creeps onto her web and makes the zipper pattern. I had 2 next to each other....only one had the zipper so I looked it up hahah. Scared the hell outta me too.

Oh thanks! I usually don't get feedback from other photographers, so thank you for that. When I first saw this, it scared me for a bit too, but my creative side wanted a closer look at it. And thank you for the tidbit of knowledge. I didn't know that. c:

I'd get freaked out by this little guy too if he jumped out right in front of me. As for my sister she'd scream bloody murder... >.>

We had a spider like this behind our house. Ironically, in our garden.
They're pretty harmless but can get to be quite big...
