Description
Here we see the thrithp race...Superficially, thrithps may resemble elephants from this universe, but they are quite different. A fully grown african elephant would only come up to a thrithp's elbow. The homeworld of the thrithp race, Frothoth, has three times less gravity than Spec, and thrithps themselves are less dense than creatures from Spec. Breathing nostrils are located on their upper flanks. Eyes and ears are on the large cephalon. The mouth is a large gash-like orifice on the forehead. Thrithps evolved from four jawed creatures with one set within the other (like alien). The upper outer jaw developed into the braincase, while the lower outer jaw has degenerated to a muscular atachment for the gangloid. The inner jaws have now taken over as the primary feeders. The dangling appendage which looks like a trunk is acually called a gangloid. At the end of the gangloid are four finger-like nodes. The thrithp gangloid is extreamly strong and dexterous. Smelling and sent glands are located along the gangloid as well. At the center of the four grasping nodes, there is a retractable array of nervous tendrils. Thrithps can fuse these tendrils with the nerves of other thrithps to send vast amounts of information between their memory-storing brains. Thrithps literally never forget anything they experience. A thrithp can communicate over long distances by using infrasound generated and picked up through their densely padded feet. Thrithps have interesting redroductive behaivore. Males and females typically mate for life. Males pocess an elastic, very long phallus which unfoils from a pouch on the left side of their head. Females receive the male's genitalia through a chloacal vent on the right side of their head. After the incimination of the sperm, the female carries several fertilized eggs within her head until she lays them. The male pocesses a patch of skin between his legs with a placenta-like organ underneath. The female extends a trunk-like egg-laying tube to deposit the eggs onto the male's skin patch. The eggs stick to the skin with mucus and tiny hooks. Within minutes, the larva eat their way out of the egg and through the male's skin into his womb. The wounds of the male heal rapidly as the larva behave as parasites in his womb, sucking his blood and eating the nutrient -rich internal placental wall. The larva will eventually turn on each other as the strongest one kills all others to eat. After 22 months (Spec time), the single surviving infant bursts the walls of the male's womb, splits the skin, and comes into the world as a miniature thrithp. Thrithps continue to be carnivores throuth aulthood. Plant matter is reserved for senior citizens. Thrithps have a strong sense of unity as they are a herd-mentality race. A "central" family unit in their mind includes fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, neises, grandparents, and second and third cousins. Government is divided between smaller clans which are controlled by larger clans which are controlled by centralized leaders to form the eldership. Generally, young thrithps inherit their family's position in society, but there are exceptions. Thrithps have the power to induce a sort of telepathy onto other species. They implant their messages into the victim's subconcious and wait for the idea to take over the being's better judgement and agree to serve the thrithp's ends. They used this ability for great deceptive acts in the years of turmoil A.Z. When the universe was being plundered by warlike races like iths, morvens, arcu, mandrakes, among others, more docile of defencless species needed help. The thrithps saw a opportunity to create a great empire using their manipulative powers. They appeared to offer salvation to many races within their reach like the yetoul, kloo waas, uggnots, shmoos, qjmbies, bogies, and the ppe. But they gradually turned these unfortunante races into slaves with their telepathic mind-washing and also exterminated billions to keep the population under controll. They even went so far as to destroy Tho, the homeworld of the shmoo race. But other species caught onto their ways and the SRF (Sophont Rights Federation) beat back the thrithps and liberated the slave races (mostly). Thrithps are a calm and dignified race, and they now regret their period of enslavement as they now suffer the steriotype of decetful, caniving, manipulative overlords with no shame.

Nicely done. I never would have guessed this thing was a sentient being.

The Boo'Ahmpa would seem quitethe interesting species. Are they carnivores like the Thrithp? I ask because they look like they may be.

Yep omnivores but they mainly go for terrestrial invertebrates

Indeed they are. Their race evolved on a low gravity planet, and there must have been higher concentrations of oxygen, nutrients, and other things to allow them to grow so huge. They were imune to most predators, so they must be quite a fearless species.

Oh, right, but is their planet supposed to be one with SUCH close convergence to Earth?

What is this "canny mountain" you speak of?

oh, it's not a thing to speak of, just the reverse of the uncanny valley. In creature design, there's this kind of golden area where things are odd enough to be really interesting but familiar enough to not be rejected out of hand.

Ha ha ha HA, very funny! I like your idea of relocate an elephants mouth above the trunk instead of below it, your space elephant doesnΒ΄t look more alien than that (except from the other things you described in your overview) and I think I sense some Avatar references in your idea about the neural connection trunk.
And I didnΒ΄t know you believed in telepathy, I myself donΒ΄t believe in telepathy directly because it feels so paranormal and implausible, but what do you think telepathy really is?
If you need more telepathic species I can give you some because I used to imagine more telepaths when I was a few years younger.

I acually doubt the existence of real telepathy too. I imagined that it would have something to do with radio waves or pheromones of some sort. But the thrithp cannot read other's minds, they simple are able to implant the initial idea within the mind, so would thet be considered telepathic?
And no, the idea of fusing nervous systems was not inspired by Avatar, it was only after I had made them that I realized the connection.

Wow! Didnt see this one coming, XD
Do you think you could try out a Sauropod species?

Thank You, you read the description right?
Well there are sauropod transapients of the mandrakes, and the lavu are somewhat like trilaterally symetrical sauropods.

Tomorrow I may just do my own sauropod.
