Nothing wrong with your vision of humanized mane 6. They all seem to fit.
Only thing I think look terrible are those horns. Like large growths... well I know they are growths, but really stands out so. I think the 2 things that do it are:
Color - being white and pinkish/purple against there skin tone really make them awkward. Twi's is not as bad color wise next to her dark skin. Especially with her hair having that streak of pink in it. It blends better. Where as Rarity's white horn against her creme brulee skin in front of purple hair. It's just shoved in your face, blatant.
Shape - They seem to bulge at the around the base. If I did not know that horns are more bone or the same material as your fingernails. I would think them to be fleshy like large thumbs.
Perhaps more hair around them and smaller would aid in the look.
Other then that I think Twi is cute. I like how you did AJ. Dash... hmmm very punk but to skanky feeling. I would imagine her to have ripped pants, but even she would have a bra or sports top on.
God Twi is so cute. Makes me think of my own OC. Dark Skinned, short and pink. Great combo. :3

As for a lot of the quality, it's more along the lines of the fact that it was kind of thrown together very quickly, and if I were to spend actual time and effort on it, they would likely not look so 'fleshy'.
I'm glad you like the designs. ovo Dash could probably rock it bra or not. But I'd say sports bra rather than the latter.
