Description Plesiosaurus dolichodeirus
Named by William Daniel Conybeare, 1821
Diet: Piscivore (Fish, ammonites, and squid-like belemnites)
Type: Sauropterygian plesiosaur
Size: 11.48 feet (3.5 meters) long and 992 lb.
Region: Europe (England UK)
Age: Early Jurassic (201.3 to 190.8 million BC; Hettangian  to Sinemurian)
Episode: Walking with Dinosaurs: Inside Their World app
Info: Swimming through the ancient Tethys Sea that covers what is today the famous Jurassic Coast in Dorset, England UK, Plesiosaurus used its flippers to "fly" (or move upward on two flippers and gliding back down on the other two) underwater and used its long neck to sneak up a school of fish (such as Dapedium, pictured) and other prey to catch and feed with its sharp, interlocking teeth. The eminent Mary Anning found the first Plesiosaurus in 1823 in the coastal cliffs of the nearby town of Lyme Regis in Dorset, England UK.

How many Early Jurassic and Middle Jurassic animals are there? There can't be too many, they've only accumulated from the app and some from Episode 3 of WWD.
