History
That city was a poor…disgusting place. Full of depressed people who lead wretched lives- only to tread all over those who were even less fortunate than themselves. The poverty throughout the city was widespread, and the few who had money stayed well away from the slums and backstreets. This, is the world Reuben was born into. The youngest child of three, his family were not the poorest, but by no means financially sufficient and were hungry a lot of the time. His father was the only evolved member of the otherwise entirely Eevee household, and thus he worked at the Smelting Factory in the furnaces. Reuben’s mother wasn’t a very…careful mother. And let her children mostly do as they please. She and her daughters spent their days scavenging for things to sell as well as wear and eat. Reuben’s mother encouraged all her children to steal if it meant their stomachs wouldn’t hurt at night. With the tutorage of his avid elder sisters, Reuben became an excellent pick-pocket.
The family continued on like this for a while. Now and then young Reuben would catch glimpses of those with money- their colourful, clean clothes and flawless faces with shining eyes. To him they were beautiful. Wealth was beautiful.

Completely oblivious to what a ‘circus’ was, 13 year old Reuben was drawn to a haunting tune. It lead him through many side streets, through crowds and even a graveyard- searching for the source of the melody.
Reuben searched…until he came upon a well-dressed man. Tall, handsome, with ghostly white hair and a large top hat that took pride of place on the man’s head. In his hands was a small music box, which he was cranking slowly.
The small Eevee took a deep breath. Perhaps this was his chance… this man looked rich- if he could pinch something of worth, perhaps his sisters won’t have to take to the streets. Trembling and red faced, the boy crept up behind the strange gentleman.
Before Reuben could even reach out a trembling paw to touch the man’s pockets, he turned. The sudden movement startled Reuben and he fell back into the dirt of the graveyard.
“…” Eerily blue eyes bore into green for the longest time before he muttered the first words.
“You seem down on your luck, boy…”

Eyes full of fear, Reuben peered up at him. The wealthy man went on to tell him about magic, fantasy, a circus. A place where everyone’s dreams could come true and where no one could be sad nor hungry, for there were always sweets and stories to be shared.
Reuben felt his heart break, he knew he could never afford to visit such a wonderful place…

“Tell me… what is it you want most in the world? Perhaps…I will grant you a wish.”

Young Reuben was just a child. The tall man’s eyes gleamed with falsity but he couldn’t see it. All the innocent saw was a chance at the life he never had.

“I want…I w-want to be wealthy….I want my family to have lots of money…”

A grin slowly spread across the lips of ‘circus’ man.

“It is done..”

Reuben lay on the ground as he was offered a hand. The Eevee hesitated, before taking a hold of the man’s hand.

And so, suddenly, his family came into riches beyond their wildest dreams. His father quit his job and his sisters and mother stopped their foraging.
For a short time, the family were over joyed. Each of them evolved, they ate three course meals together, bought fancy clothes with gold embroidery, but never once did they think of giving any of their money to those who still lived and died in the backstreets every day.
It did not take long until the money got to them all. His sisters grew vain, his father spent his life drinking and being drunk, and his mother found other means of…’escaping’ the current world.

A month of being wealthy, and Reuben heard that strange tune calling to him again. No sooner had he found and joined the strange man and his music box atop a roof, does he see that in the town square his family are in chains.
The now Glaceon Reuben moves to jump off and run to his family- but the man holds him back with a steely glare.
“Sit and watch what you brought upon your family…”
Unable to move or protest, the boy whimpers as his family are publicly executed one by one. Reuben screams questions at the man. Why is this happening? Why won’t the man tell him why his parents and sisters are being executed? What did he do to deserve this?

“I am Mr. Dark, Reuben Kaltori…you will do well to remember it. Come along child, we have work to do.”

Growing up in the circus, Reuben quickly turned his childhood hobby of throwing sharp objects into a performance. With unmatched accuracy, he would pitch knives at berries thrown in the air or placed in precarious places- slicing them in half. His grace whilst doing so was impressive, and he used moves like ‘Ice shard’ and ‘Ice wind’ do aid his routine. Reuben was soon able to put on quite a show, and is quite content with the money he makes.
Despite the hatred Reuben has for the man who ‘did this to him’, his respect for Mr.Dark almost outweighs it. He intends to make a deal with the man to escape the circus- but until then, he will sit back, sharpen his blades and try to survive in this hellhole some call a fantasy.

Wish:
Reuben wished for wealth.
The immense amount of money Reuben’s family gained was stolen, and unfortunately they were convicted of grand theft. Being unable to repay what they had spent, the court deemed their deaths appropriate. Reuben believes it was Mr.Dark who ‘saved’ him from being found by the authorities, but actually it was his family who protected him. They furiously denied Reuben’s existence, covering his tracks with lies.
The public, abhorred at the arrogance of the Eevee family, demanded a public execution of them all. Their deaths weren’t necessary for the crimes they ‘committed’, but the authorities didn’t mind putting on a show for the starving public if it meant they wouldn’t revolt for at least one more day.

Personality:
A very immature Glaceon, Reuben loves to joke around and act like a kid. Depressed by his current ‘situation’, he sometimes takes it out on others in the form of teasing and/or pranks. Though a joker, he does have a real talent with his blades and is as accurate as they come.
He was slightly traumatized by watching his family’s executions and thus suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He will occasionally relive the event in his mind, and as much as he tries to repress the memory it remains vivid as ever.
If asked about his past, Reuben may draw a blank- asking the person who posed the question the same thing in an attempt to avoid answering.
Reuben is often animated when he talks, waving his hands around to emphasize statements. He can be arrogant, and is occasionally too daring with his routines- leading to a cut here and there. He loves to keep people in suspense, and is only reserved when conversation reaches an unpleasant topic.

Reuben doesn't believe in fate, the possibility of equality or karma- and has a very stubborn mindset. On a positive note, he is a very loyal friend and will stand by you when needed. Daft yet cunning at the same time in different situations, he has a bad habit of contradicting himself.

He hates to show fear, and is very self-conscious. Reuben strives to impress others (though he may deny it), and loves the cheer of an entertained crowd. He doesn't like it when people make assumptions of him, and will go out of his way to prove others wrong. The two main things he fears are heights, and a lot of fire (a small candle won’t bother him).

Having been part of the circus for so long, Reuben doesn't fear Mr.Dark. All he has for the man is respect and hatred. He looks forward to the day that he can escape the circus and regain his ‘soul’, however he is in no hurry to do so.

Likes: Sharp knives, waist coats, sweets, annoying people

Dislikes: Being treated like a child (though he acts like one), being told what to do, sour things, being hungry and raggedy clothing (it reminds him of his youth)

- Reuben has many, many knives. Most of which are stored safely with the majority of his belongings, however, he will keep at least 4 on his person at all times.
-Damage his knives, and he'll damage you.
-Though hating Mr. Dark, Reuben seems to hold the man in very high regard.
-His pick-pocketing skills remain from his youth and he will steal the occasional item from other performers.
-On the off chance something goes wrong with his blades, he uses Protect to keep himself and spectators out of harm’s way.
