Not really, more of a matte painting or a photomanipulation - hence it's in the photomanipulation category.

Is the soldier in foreground completely pixel or are there any vectors/3D?

I don't think anyone else saw that patch, then again I'm probably wrong.

The soldier is created with 52 layers? awesome. What, the gun comes from a different image, the helmet, and things like that?.

Sort of. The soldier is by himself with gun already, but i added the helmet, the balaclava, the goggles, the reflection on the goggles, the helmet camera, the patches on the arm and some other small things.

Wow, its impressive. The only object I could notice that it was somewhat added was the googles, everything else looks like it comes togheter in the original image, its almost imposible to identify the difference (I just said helmet for random, it dosent look like it was added).
Is there a word to name this technique? I mean, its somewhat "collage" but making it all look like if it comes from the same image is something else... I am intersted on learning to do this things, is there a word I should write on google to search for tutorials and stuff about this technique?

Thanks. Well, it goes under photomanipulation, but I don't really know if you could call it compositing or some other stuff. It's just the technique to blend several different images into one, and make it look like they all belong together. I work alot with adjustments layers, and for this piece I created alot of atmosphere layers which contains smoke, dust and sunlight to put over all the existing layers to make it seem like they're in the same image. I then adjusted this image pretty heavily with color balance and curves and also with a plug in called "Alien Skin Exposure" which is great for creating color effects. You could also add in particles like I did here that flies around and make it seems like the closest soldier actually interacts with the rest of the image.
Here's how the image would look (a small "atmospheric breakdown") without just a few adjustment and dust layers: [link]

Thanks for all the advices, will try to experiment with them, they will surely come in handy considering I am studying graphic design.
Again, thanks
