Description
So here's the second WIP photo for Rick. Probably going to start uploading a couple WIP's from now on when I do detailed drawings like this, just for fun =].Related content

I don't watch TWD so I don't know who this Rick fellow is, but I would have put money on this being David Duchovny.

You'd be out some money then unfortunately xD. The actor is Andrew Lincoln.

Not complicated at all really.
Basically first I either use my kneaded eraser or eraser stick depending on how sharp I want the highlight to be. If I use the kneaded eraser it'll create a softer highlight, and the eraser stick will make a much sharper, brighter highlight (I usually use the eraser stick for white hairs).
Anyways, wherever the wrinkle is, I make a highlight first. Then I simply take my pencil, and follow along the edge of that highlight. How light/heavy I use the pencil depends on the depth and area of the wrinkle. And that's all there is to it really.
Drawing the line along the highlight makes it stick out a lot more. It gives it depth, and makes it look like a wrinkle/scar/cut/etc. Try it yourself, shade a grey patch on a paper, make a thin highlight with your eraser, and draw a very light line along it. Also blending the line a bit will make it better as well. I use a very thin blending stump.
Good luck!

thanks so much man helps a lot just one more question when you say draw a line along the highlight do you mean draw a line directly across the highlight you made or around itΒ

What I meant is to draw the line along side the edge of the highlight =]
