Name: Bao Chai (Chai)
Height: 5'5 and 7'5
Species: Fu dog, Guardian.
Age: Seems younger than she lets on.
Gender: Female

Personality: Chai is a peaceful, gentle being by nature.

A Buddhist, she believes that every man is his own master, though her philosophies appear to contradict one another as she believes people should do for themselves but tends to do for others whenever she can.

She chooses to maintain a humanoid form, though The Guardian is her true shape. This is a choice made long ago to stay close to those she must protect, strengthening their bonds. Likes tea!

Abilities: Chai's abilities are based on the idea of thought-force or rather energy transformed into physical force. She is able to create energy fields and pressure-waves capable of pushing and blocking opponents. These fields are normally used in short bursts though they can be extended to a barrier which is only maintainable for a short period of time, after which a rest is required as that much energy passing through her body is exhausting. She exists as a conduit. (More below on the nature of her power and it's source)

This force is not entirely visible, but rather makes the air ripple as if from heat and feel warmer than he surrounding air.

Additional fiddly-bits:

-Snout, throat, tummy and the fronts of her legs are covered in small pearly scales. Back has tile-like growths that act as armor to protect her spine and neck.

-Horn and spines are warm to the touch and glow softly when she is using her energy abilities. They are an indicator as to how much energy she is allowing to pass through her/how much force and will she is exerting.

-She has a collar only in stone form. The bell on it is a real bell. This is used to awaken a sleeping guardian.

-I called it a mole in her guardian form but it's just a black spot on her fur xD

Back story: Chai comes from a place very much like an AU (Alternate Universe) Tibet. Brought like many others of her kind to help introduce Buddhism to the area to replace the primitive Bo religion of the region. Many of her kind were raised there to serve typically in pairs as temple guardians. Typically, they would guard their temple for hundreds of years, often the same one over the course of their long lives. Truly they are a race made to stay in one place, though this was not to be for her.

Chai's skill-set is based loosely on/adapted from the ideas presented in The quantum theory of life and Buddhism. Referenced from Dr. Senaka Ranasinghe's article on the same:

The universe is a dynamic web of energies existing in three forms: Free energy, Force, and Matter.

Free energy is energy in its purest form and cannot be perceived directly. It exists in the human body and is what creates consciousness.

Force is a type of energy created by moving matter, which in turn causes movement of matter. The three forces in the universe consist of: Electricity, Magnetism, and Gravity.

The existence of these forces is in the form of an energy field that is all around us. Chai taps into this field and they manifest into physicality. As everything is made of energy her shields and pressure-waves oppose the energy of (for example) a person's body. So it is not the persons physical body that is being pushed back, though it is a side effect.
