As seen on: Kotaku, G4tv, and Irrational Games!Once again we opted to do a redesign of some of our favorite characters, I somehow ended up in a world where Samus Aran, from Metroid, fought in WW2 for the allies.
This was a lot of fun, after I got started it was hard to stop which is a great sign.
I'll post a quick progression later this week. Make sure to check out Carlos V's. entry and check back for more updates as other friends and colleagues upload their Nintendo/ WW2 mash ups.

This is good, in that she'll end the war in under three hours to get the best ending. On the down side, Europe is probably going to explode.

Except that Samus isn't Japanese... >.> She's not even from earth, but since her hair is blond and her name is Samus Aran, she's more than probably of European ancestry.

I guess she can fit there too, but I looked at it but apparently neither "Samus" or "Aran" have roots on a real language.

Well, "Aran" sounds a bit like "Erin", but technically you're right that it's not a real name.

Actually there is an island off the coast of Ireland called Aran so it's technically a real name just not a common family name. Also Metroid lore established that her parents' names are Rodney and Virginia.

I suppose that's accurate.
To be fair though, many people don't take the manga as canon.
