Week one had been uncomfortable. Beau had nearly asked Mr Fennel if he could stay at the house this week, be on his own where he felt safe. With the spiky adult that tended to his bandages and the brightly coloured Miss Enya that gave him warm, tasty meals. But what if his master came back? Mr Fennel was surely a strong wyngro, but his master was tall and skilled in combat, what if he hurt Mr Fennel or Miss Enya?

What if he took him back to have Beau's self erased?

He trembled at the thoughts as they resurfaced in his mind. They were the reason he had returned to class this week. He would learn to protect himself and the two wyngrew who had been kind enough to look after him. The lesson this week seemed easier, he wouldn't have to deal with a myriad of different wynglings, just one or two. As Beau made his way outside he sat back as the other students started grouping up, not really sure how to approach any of them. Thankfully, a grey wyngling with a bright pink bow took it upon herself to approach him.

'Just one wyngling to deal with', he thought with relief. He politely accepted the invitation and followed along with his partner. Though the nerves were still there, they weren't nearly as bad as the week before. He'd made it through the last week, surely he could make it through this one too.

Short story cause time restrictions once more! I wanted to try my hand at a painted background and sadly I ran out of time to finish this one, though I don't think it turned out too badly, perhaps if I have time in the future I will come back and finish it.
