Snow Leopards are incredibly gorgeous. This is Tiga, who was staring at someone whistling near the exhibit. Her two cubs were playing in the background and she didn't let them get too close to the glass as long as the whistling guy was there.Tiga

Beautiful! I was at the zoo recently, and hoped to get a nice shot of the cubs, but they were bathing each other inside their den... snapped a few, but they are pretty dim... I didn't see Tiga at all, which was sad because I only get there once a year or so...

do zoos in America have name plates of the animals at the exhibits? Cause many people seem to know not only the orca names but also other animals names. Or did you ask a zoo keeper?
Here in Germany there are only sometimes names mentioned in newspaper articles when there is a birth or an old well known animal dies.
Only the dolphins names and the ones of the orang utans are mentioned at Duisburg zoo. And there are some plates with names when a company or someone took the sponsorship for an animal.

No, usually there aren't signs that say the names of the animals (unfortunately, I'd love that!). At our zoo, when animals are born they put up signs outside the exhibit announcing the babies & their parents' names, plus I look up old news articles that talk about specific animals, and sometimes the keepers tell their names. I'm trying to make a sort of database for some of the animals at the Toronto Zoo, so I've done a bit of research on it.
For cetaceans, the trainers at MLC talk about the animals by name, except for the dolphins sometimes.

I am also working on a database of the Duisburg zoo animal names but it isn't completed yet. There are also too many animals of some species (for example fish or zebras *lol*) But they have only two white rhinos and I would love to know their names. Names I have are from the dolphins, some of the sealions and seals, the koalas, wombats, tree kangaroos, brown bears, apes, red pandas, dwarf hippos, giraffes, elephants and tigers plus some of their smaller animals.
I would love to get to know the other names, too. The only thing that makes it so difficult is, that animals die or are born or are moved and then the whole list isnt correct anymore.
