Jonah woke early, despite his late night, and detangled himself reluctantly from Danielle.

The woman mumbled a bit in her sleep, her hand clasping the bedsheets where he had lain. When they came away with nothing she jumped awake, sitting up straight.

Jonah put a hand on her cheek to calm her breathing as she looked around, getting her bearings. She had chronic nightmares to match his own, and he kissed her until her heart settled.

She smiled at him sleepily, her eyes half open, as she climbed out of the bed. "I'll make you some coffee." She said.

He went into the small bathroom they had on the room, shaving and brushing his teeth. When he came back out she had a small plate of bacon and eggs, toast, and some black coffee. She nibbled at a piece of toast herself, rubbing her small stomache. Jonah was still amazed that a piece of himself was growing in there.

He put a hand over her's, and the reverence on his face nearly broke Danielle's heart. She smiled at him, pulling away to go to her morning routine.

When she came out of the bathroom he was dressed, geared up, and his plate was clean. They walked out to the barn hand in hand, following the small stream of other Támhas on their way to their own Dušana.

Jonah saddled Constance, checking his gear sat right on her back, and turned back to steal a kiss from Danielle before mounting up.

"I'll see you when you get back." she said, almost a question. Constance pawed the ground, her breath clouding the air.

Jonah smiled. "Of course." He shifted uncomfortably, toying with Constance's mane.

"I love you." they both said together. Danielle said it desperatly, as if it were the last thing she'd say to him. Jonah said it quietly, as if he were afriad she'd laugh.

Green eyes met blue as the shock of the moment set in. Even Constance was quite under Jonah. Then smiles split both faces as the mare headed off with the other Dušana to the starting line.

Jonah at least had that to keep him warm on this overnight ride of doom. Constance flicked her ears at him.
