this is for all of you Shikamaru fans out there! (you know who you are) Shikamaru is my personal second favorite char from Naruto.
uh, yeah. this is un-edited. you know...straight from the scanner to you!
...maybe I'll do something more with it...er...if I dont get lazy that is...so I hope the inspirational bug decides to bite me a little bit...shees, keeping up with art is "troublesome".

you really shouldn't worry about this at all. ^^ but I respect the fact that you want to make a better version, and if that's really what you want then I can't stop you. 
and boy do I know how it feels to be lacking in skills to match up to someone... Here on DA there are three people that I constantly try to outdo, but mostly always end up failing... some day though, I'll be good enough to declare a victory over all of them!

Troublesome, Indeed! I could tell the perspective was "fisheye", and it's perfectly Manga=ka! Just like something You'd see as a Show opening or for the inside-cover-pages in manga

perspective is a ninja skill that must be mastered through hard work and dicipline...or by just practicing every once in a while...whichever is best suited for you, I guess.(I chose practice once in a while)
...and front views are still better than sideviews.
uh, and sorry to all the sasuke fans. I shall start something worthy of all your admiration! better than shikamaru, but not as good as rock lee! (my favorite)

I dont know, but the best looking male char (by that I mean coolest looking) is Gaara, even though he has no eyebrows and his eyes are blacked out from not sleeping, he still manages to look incredibly awesome! and I totally dig his stare, ...man, I wish I was like him, at least his hair.
but I look so goofy that not even kids are scared of me! @__@ ....I cant wait for old age and the creepy looks that come with it.

*Geezus* really nice perspective view, cool angle. the clothing looks very skillfull, as well as his hands. perhaps the neck is just a small bit too short, he looks a tiny bit too much crooked.
must say that I like your style very much. think I'll watch you provident, for not missing your future deviations, so kepp on deviating!
btw.: perhaps a tiny bit of contrast handling would be enough on this one. to let the black stay black

yeah, I could tweek the contrast/brightness levels(and I usually do) but I decided to just show it in its "raw" form. or "the way it looks in my sketchbook". ...although, the scanner keeps making the drawings a little bit too light, so I guess its not really its "raw" form. hehe ^_^;
but this is done in "fish-eye" style.(I guess you cant really tell because the background is non-present) but thats why the shoulder is a lot larger than it would normally be, and the neck is almost non-existant(when in reality its being hidden by the overlaping shirt), the back is stretched way beyond its limits, and he seems almost impossibly curvy.
man, I guess backgrounds are really important for fish-eye drawings. >.< ...I hate them so much...

hehe, that's why I haven't tried such perspectives very often yet, allthough my "normal" ones are totally boooring..don't blame me for my comment, I think I'll have to learn a lot more, before I wave the banner of "better-knowledge" in front of your nose
anyway, I read your signature recently, and I tried to find out in which category I fit most 
hard to decide, already my parents as well as my brother have an "art-talent" (if something like that exists..) so it's a family interest, but hey, I started painting with my first wax-markers at the age of 3 so I can call myself also a hard training dropout..

But that's not really my line... ^_^; its from a manga called "Naruto". my favorite character Rock Lee says it.
but I would fit probably as the dropout, since I am trying to become better than a friend that seems to be naturally talented at art(A.K.A "the genious").
I havent been able to win...yet. but I am rather close to catching up to those skillz! hehe soon I shall be victorious!
and as far as the banner of "better knowledge" goes, I myself am guilty of waving it around a few times. But I'd rather have people waving that flag in front of other people's "noses" because thats how an artist knows what it is that he/she needs to improve. like on this drawing for example, now I know that if I want to do "fish-eye" I have to either 1. make it more ovious, by making it look more stretched out, or 2. put a background in there so that people will see the fish-eyedness of the drawing.
...so yeah, dont stop waving that flag! lots of people need to have it in their faces! tsukijin needs that flag in his face too!!! hehe

Hmm, yey, well said, I know how you felt. there was always a girl in my older art-class which painted much more better than I do up until now, and that with painting only one or two times a month, and I?
painting every day didn't make me better than her, but I got close..
and hell yes, the "banner" or let me call it the knowledge, improvement or constructive critique from more experienced artist was the reason why I came here to DA!!! Normally I have only two or three people which are able to make critiques about my art, which helps me getting better. it's hard to seing your best work being crushed in two phrases but it's the only way to really get better. So I decided to come here to see what other mistakes artist see on my ones... *cue with the fence post* see this as an indirect begging for critique anytime (and I'll do so too)

but I came to DA because...I stayed up too late one night(while being on the net), and I happened to arrive at DA just randomly...so I (again, randomly) decided to join for no reason at all. and posted some of the work I had in the computer at the moment; which is stuff from...almost two years ago. (I believe) ...well actually its all posted in my very first journal...I'm sure its still there...
at any rate, at first I didnt see anything going on. I was my only viewer so I decided to stop coming to DA. But then SAB-CA found out that I had joined DA and he started commenting...then slowly the rest of the people came, and I made new "net friends" so now I cant leave...I guess. ^___^;

the first picture I uploaded was made 1,1/2-2 years ago, it's still up ([link] ) and still my most commented one ever! (await the clue of the joke..) ok,ok, it's not that bad either, but hey..thought I might have developed since then.. >.< well then, a guy from malaysia wrote a unusal long comment and I started answering, so since then obefiend and me try to wave the "banner" in front of each others nose as often as possible, so he and his devs made me intressted in what else I might find on DA..
besides the dialouge with obe is the reason why it's still my most commented one...
