I like the message of this piece and how you have depicted basically freedom in comparison to imprisonment of the circus, I am surprised actually that circuses in this day and age still exist but they do and I really can't understand why people want to go to them as they are rather cruel. I see zoos definitely though and some do try and actually help species recover but of course there will always be some zoos that give the others a bad impression. Still really nice work, I like the blending of 2 different realities and I like the colours and textures.

As a zookeeper I agree circuses are awful. The species mostly used in shows are too dangerous to be hands on with. And the places labeled as zoos give the real conservation focus zoos a bad name. Most animals at my work are the ones who couldn't pass rehab school. Missing part of a wing, an eye, or keep as pets and don't know how to live as a wild animal. Which is always the worst. People confuse domestic with tame. Domestic is your house cat and dogs. Tame is a lion or a tiger that deals with you till it doesn't want to any more.
At my work we also have red wolves. Which only have 200 in its population. And only about 12 known in the wild. So what conservation zoos do is allow a safe space for these endangered species to breed to then slowly release them into the wild once safe lands are made for them. Trust me, in a perfect happy world where the animals aren't endangered and we co-live with them and respect them zoos wouldn't be needed. But that's sadly not where we are at. So education and conservation is our goal. Not all zoos are bad. You just have to do your research on the facility. c:
