Description Well, Guess I got some explaining to do with this...
For those not familiar with the world of Ebberon, I offer an explanation of it in a simple equation: Steampunk + Magic - Steam + Dragons = Ebberon.
It is a Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting, originally for version 3.5, and updated for 4e. In this world there is your typical swords and sorcery, Dungeon crawling, unexplored areas, magic, etc. But it also has magitech, allowing for blending of the idea of steampunk run on magic.
This world is guided by a prophecy discovered by the first dragons. The prophesy is made up of a series of if/then/if not/ then statements, meaning that it is nearly impossible to defy, as it takes everything into account. The "lesser" races (from the dragon's perspective) know little to nothing about the prophecy.
One of the ways people pertaining to the prophecy are known is through Dragonmarks. A Dragonmark is a manifestation of the prophecy on a person. There are 12 different marks, each one belongs to a house, and only manifests to people in that house, who are specific races. However, there are occasionally mutations in Dragonmarked races. These mutations are Aberrant Dragonmarks, these Dragonmarks appear among anyone of any Dragonmarked race. Each Aberrant Dragonmark is different from any other, even if they offer the same abilities as another. Well, the "valid" dragonmarked houses sort of mark you for death if you manifest one.
So, I was bored one day, made a Half-Elf wizard that had an Aberrant Dragonmark. I decided to give him a Dragonmark that allows him to do pure, negitive energy damage by touching someone. Yeaaaaaaaaaah... Not exactly the best ability for a neutral good character, but it's fun running from the Dragonmarked Houses.
