Description
, I'm fast, am I not?--> Yesterdey he asked me, whether I ever made a tutorial. And there it is!
People often ask me how I work. Actually I change my methods so often, that this tutorial could be old in two weeks
Hope, it is helpful anyway.
Please tell me any English mistakes you can find!

Danke (:

Haha, ne also zu den Fotos hat bisher glaub ich niemand was gesagt. Und an den Fingernägeln kau ich auch nicht (;

It's always the time.
Anyway, your drawing style is awesome the way it is. You basically use photoshop, do you? It's really amazing. And you can make graphic novels in any stlye you want (; Look at this beautiful one, for example: "Portugal" by Pedrosa: [link]

Brush pens are like brushes but with stable synthetic brushes and cartridges, so you don't need ink bottles (:

So a brush pen is the answer! I'm really unfamiliar with art tools and the selection at stores can be overwhelming. <_< I hope to give brush pens a try.

I never realised you did your lines traditionally!
They're so wonderful and clean! I'm looking into getting a pentel brush pen and it definitely seems worth it! (:
Also- thanks for the useful little tip about sketching in blue lines as getting rid
of pencil sketches after scanning can be a nightmare haha

I like your meathod, I've got a similar one, but I'm not asconfident in my brush work, your work has a craig thompson feel to it. have you read Habibi?

tuffix In reply to Khy82 [2012-03-07 17:58:49 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! That's a huge compliment to me, since Thompson is a great model for me (though I try to not just copy his style..)
Yes, I read Habibi, an amazing work. However I like Blankets more, which I read a week after Habibi (:

Ohhh. I didn't know the scanner won't pick up blue with those settings. It's like a secret trick!
I think previously I've seen tutorials where artists draw using any coloured pencil, and then ink it in black, then scan it in colour. Then in Photoshop, they use the Hue/Saturation menu to push the Lightness of that colour (eg. Blue) to maximum so that the coloured sketch is conveniently "erased". Also works with lined note pages (if the lines are say, blue in colour and the drawing is black).
But mashaAllah this one is a new discovery for me. Thank you!

Wow. This is great.
I use very similar techniques but not the blue pencil part. Thats an excellent idea!

Thanks! (:
Yes, I think, I saw that blue pencil technique in a video.
I still need to find out, why it doesn't work with all colors: green yes, orange no.

this is really good
because i can see how u create
it would be nice to see it coloured in as well. not the steps but just the finished picture
Does scanning in black and white remove any of the detail?
