That definitely makes 10 times more senses that normal Togepi, especially considering its evolutions. Plus, I could see the ,,armor" as harden feathers that would protect the infants from danger and later on fall to make room for normal feathers.

Yeah something like that. Togepi is a challenging pokemon I think to do as "realistic". Definitely was fun to work with, haha.

I thought since it is a baby I would add big eyes to it, instead of those small shown in the official art. And birds does have large eyes anyways.

Depending on the artist and the vision they have, pokemon can take different shapes. I took the spieces more literally (spike ball pokemon) and the fact it is kinda bird-like when it evolves further.
