Description
A muscle study I did in hopes to better understand the body. I am still in need of understanding how a bipedal creature would sport such a large tail while being able to walk upright. As imaginative as some creations are, I seem to want to pull them all back into some sort of reality, wether through environment or physicla properties. I guess that is just me.Related content

I think the interesting part is that no one actually looks at a reptile, you cannot see their muscle definition in anything other than the arms. Not to say this isn't good though. ^..^

Interesting. Little cylinders on four legs, the whole lot of 'em!

Yep, because the scales hide the definition. Just like a cat's fur.

Wow, great back muscles ^^ In most pictures you only see pectoral muscles, so this is a very nice change.
And well, the feet are nicely drawn ^_^ It would be great if you would accept my group submission request ^^

This is pretty cool. I've wanted to create a dragon character that was bipedal,

Wonderful work, I really admire the bunching of the muscles in the shoulders and the foreshortening of the legs. I think you've done it very nicely but the black shadow seems to distract from the figure too much, so you might want to make it a shade of grey or get rid of it entirely.

Ahh, yes, the shadow was a bit of an after thought. Thanks for the input.

question: this back character is from your test character? Is the same character?

That's a good level of muscle there. It's just right.
Great work on the anatomy. I hardly notice the legs anyway.

Studies are good. I've always been inclined to draw a finished version the first time through...and have met with much frustration. I'd say you have the form down fairly well, as is. The right leg's perspective is a bit off, but you're probably aware of that...
And that's quite a well-kept dragon creature...

Yes, the legs were tough to do than the rest...They do not seem to go away from the viewer too well. Live and learn I guess. He is well kept though who keeps who, I couldn't say

Smome one needs to keep things pulled together. I can barely do reality at all I'm very proud of any one who can.
Nice deviation.

I had some trouble trying to make the legs point away from the viewer. I need some practice with foreshortening. Glad you like it.

This is REALLY REALLY old, I know, but if you think of the legs simply as tubes, and draw ellipses signifying the roundness of that tube...
Perspective comes into play here.
