Description ~~~

I'm listening to some right now...

Even if you're not a fan, and as you're reading this you're thinking 'Oh, gees, I don't have time for this--' well you do.

iTunes...CD...rapidshare...anywhere you can find it (I did), find the soundtrack to Assassin's Creed II (also find the soundtrack to the first, if you know what's good for you,) and download it.

(Easy links:
Jerusalem Horse Ride: [link]
Flight over Venice I: [link]
Flight over Venice II: [link]

Sometimes I get really pumped about things (like music and art and swords and weapons!) and I try to share my excitement with others and they just smile politely and nod and change the subject... They just don't get it...

Sometimes I like to dream that maybe I just shouldn't be where I'm at. That, somehow, I'm from some distant civilization of awesome people and I just got separated from my tribe...

For now, I don't know where they are.

But they know me, and I know them, and whether we know it or not, we're looking for each other. And maybe, just maybe, one day we'll find each other...

Maybe.

Saint and Shadow...
Art/Chars (c) me.
...Do I have to say it?

YYYAAAAYYYYYY
DRAGON FROM TWILIGHT SAINT!
Love the pose, the background, and espeically love your hardcore lightoing effect going on.
Suggestions: Again, might want to re-evaluate wing angle cuz one closest to us is a bit funky compared to rest of body.
AWESOME JOB!

its funny in some sort of sense i kind of felt like that during most part of last week whilst playing Divinity II - Ego Draconis for the 360 i kind of felt grounded and felt pretty helpless just wanting to be able to fly free and and that great stuff i felt the same way when i seen James Camerons Avatar what it would be like to properly explore the greatness of the planet Pandora funnily enough I actually hold a belief that everything that we have come up with actually exists somewhere within the vast cosmos to which we exsit in, it gets me down that i know im not gonna be around by the time they take such a big step...i could never really talk about this with my other friends as they would think im an absolute weirdo and that would hurt me quite a bit as its belief ive held dear for quite some time...i mean hell one of my aims in life is to explore the planet see all kinds of different things because ive only been of this little island UK twice and its not much seeing the same hometown for 20 years stright ...anyhow enough jibber jabber from me lol must talk about piccie now XD

something about this picture is beatiful in its own right reading a lot of the comments (moderate sized ones at least ) made me think about what i believe in and all that the picture has a sense of freedom and you can clearly see a great amount of freedom within this piture ontop of that i love how you have manged the texture on the dragons skin (i have thing about textures lol especially in my last college project XD) and i also love how the lighting has been pulled off too its great nice job

The reflection of the wings caught my attention, very nice job, im always looking for ways to use lighting to make images more interesting.
Tips-
maybe more whites in/next to the contours to make it a little more defining to the eye. Or a harder brush, the spray effect of the brush makes the water look a little fuzzy.
but its an epic image, the human on really gives you a since of size of the dragon.

TwilightSaint In reply to RaysGallery [2010-01-04 02:31:56 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! ^^
Do you mean use the brighter/hard brush on the water...or the whole image? (I know all my images are a bit fuzzy - I'm working on that. >.< )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaysGallery In reply to TwilightSaint [2010-01-04 04:05:47 +0000 UTC]

the water is the only thing that really stuck out as fuzzy to me, if your looking to stop the fuzz, i use the 3rd default brush in photoshop, it has it's weaknesses as well but it has'nt given me any problems with fuzz.

TwilightSaint In reply to RaysGallery [2010-01-04 05:18:48 +0000 UTC]

You mean the hard-edged 5 px brush? Would it work better on a low opacity? I typically try to steer away from the literal hard-edged brushes unless I'm working on tiny shades or highlights or little details or something.

RaysGallery In reply to TwilightSaint [2010-01-04 05:43:52 +0000 UTC]

my bad, i meant the third set down,"Airbrush Hard round" ,yeah i use it with low opacity, but its up to you what strength.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TwilightSaint In reply to RaysGallery [2010-01-04 22:48:37 +0000 UTC]

Oooooh, okay! Is that much different the 'Airbrush Pen Opacity Flow'? I use that combined with the generic fuzzy airbrush.

TwilightSaint In reply to RaysGallery [2010-01-09 07:16:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it was, lol. Are the hard airbrushes much different from the hard-edged airbrush pen opacity flow brush? (The 19 pixel one.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaysGallery In reply to TwilightSaint [2010-01-09 18:31:32 +0000 UTC]

well the one i recommended leaves behind lighter tones of the color that your using, when used with low strength. Its a cool effect that i enjoy, the first default brush is.......well i dont think i've really used it with low opacity yet, so not sure how different they'd look.

I really like your style of art; the simple backgrounds are perfect as they don't detract from the image whatsoever and the blurriness sort of adds a feeling of flying fast. Plus, you lighting is almost dead on. The highlights and muscles are very well done.

Only a few minor details: as was said above it looks like either the head is slightly too small or the neck is too thick right by the head (imo).

Anyways, this is awesome! Keep up the good work

TwilightSaint In reply to FrozenFirePhoto [2010-01-02 19:54:09 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I have been working on tightening up my backgrounds, too. And I am proud of my lighting.

Ah, yeah, I just saw their comment - I totally see what you mean! Shadow is intentionally huge, though, ha-ha. But I'll keep it in mind for next time!

Thank you very much!

Very impressive the Lighting is very good however.. it could just be me but the head looks a bit small for a dragon that size

I know we've touched on this a little already and will maybe talk about it later today, but I totally jive what you're laying down. ...Man. *nods*
But in complete seriousness, yeah. I'm actually listening to Jerusalem Horse Ride right now and I'm getting it some. I also find Death Cab for Cutie and Regina Spektor invoke these feelings a lot, for me.
(For some reason, with songs of this caliber, I nearly always imagine riding down an empty highway as it's raining, sky dark grey and head pressed against the glass?)
And I totally get you on the future thing-- I'm going to have to cut this short because I really need to get ready, but I realised as we were driving up for York that I had spent the past hour just thinking and fretting about my future. It's terrible, I feel so lost (suffocating/drowning in thoughts, anyone?) and it sounds like that's what you're going through too.

To make it snappy: *hugs*. Although I'll be giving you one in real life in about fifteen minutes. :3

TwilightSaint In reply to apixelateddream [2009-12-30 02:25:55 +0000 UTC]

Yesh, yesh. *nods* I shall keep my epic conversation down less than five-seven pages, lol.
(Really? I always imagine flying over stuff - usually desert-ish plains and stuff. Sometimes rivers. Ha-ha, hence this pic.)
Augh-wahh, the future. *headdesk* Why must it loom over us like some terrible shadow? At times, it is the greatest thing in the world. At others, our worst nightmare.
-back, lol. We must chill again soon!
