“One of the kaiju with least activity, Fáfnir usually spends its days slumbering within its den, located in the mudded wasteland of Muspelheim created from the Mt. Rainier erupting years ago. Periodically the wyrm will awaken to traverse to long abandoned towns within the region and, if needed to, to the ruins of Seattle itself. There Fáfnir has displayed a particular characteristic of seeking any gold or other jewels before using the superheated gases it produces to graft the precious minerals onto his sticky skin. There is no known practicality to the kaiju doing other than purely display. Certain scavengers are crafty enough to follow the kaiju’s sleep pattern, carefully extracting small amounts of the gold off the kaiju’s body without waking. Those who take the greatest risks seek the greatest rewards. However this is extremely ill advised from the U.A.K.F.”
