This reminds me of "The Music of Erich Zann" by Lovecraft. I don't know if you've read it, but this is the perfect introductory illustration, showing the narrator approaching the Rue d'Auseil.

I'm falling down on the side of loving the pink line. It entirely changes my reading of the type of "go". The pink kind of energises it, like adding an exclamation mark to the end of a word. A different colour would make me feel something different.
So, from that side of things, I think the pink was a bold and interesting idea! Nicely done.

I'm a little iffy on the pink outline as well, I can't decide if I really like it or not...regardless, it does add quite a bit of interest to the piece and was really a bold move.
I really like the colors here and the rough, textured painting style. This piece has a lot of atmosphere to it.

gosh, if you were in my illustrations i would want to try so much harder than i have been. seeing this kind of caliber talent would have made me more competitive. top notch color. the mood gets upset by the pink line.. maybe another would have been more harmonious while still being bold like a sea foam green or a kind of blue.
never the less. i would buy this. beautiful.

this crazy bold outline on this dark gloomy background and this overall light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel feeling just create a sense of movement .....i looovee it *does the joy dance*

Thanks for the input. I wasn't entirely sure about the pink outline to begin with, but I'm still glad I put it in, if only to try out new motifs.

haha..true..maybe it coulda been uh..not pink..haha. i do like the little design around the sun tho, i guess it's just a girly thing.
