Description

My character submission for
Seems like a fun group that will give me something to draw if I have artist's block.

Character Info

Name: Thaine
Aery: Tookie Island
Current Rank: Tribal Tookie
Gender: Female

Character Personality:
Thaine is very wise and kind and is always willing to lend a hand (err... claw) to her tribemates. She can also be lazy and carefree, spending hours sunning on rocks along side the beach.
She acts as a Shaman and tries to find "natural healing properties" in plants, flowers and other things found in nature.
One downside to her personality is that like any small dog or quaker parrot, she can sometimes be the embodiment of "little man syndrome". Trying to weasel her way into positions of power and having violent mood swings. She won't hesitate to physically assert herself to anything bigger then her... including the "giant" gryphons that sometimes fly onto her island.

Diet:
Like a domesticated quaker parrot, she can eat almost any food presented to her. Fruits, veggies, seeds and meats are all fair game. Her favorite foods include very sweet fruits (Mangoes. Mmmmmm....) and fish/shellfish.
Those little crabs that wander onto the island can pack a nasty pinch... but they sure are tasty!

Other Details:
* Like all other Tookie island gryphons, Thaine likes to collect pretty, shiny things. In particular, pretty seashells and pearls. She has an extensive collection of them that she keeps hidden and buried so none of the other gryphons can find them!
* Her tail wags when she's happy... much like a real dog!
* Her front parts are of a blue quaker parrot, which is a color mutation on the standard green quaker.
* Her hindquarters are that of a toy version of the American Eskimo breed of dog. This breed is known by several other names including American Spitz, Eskimo Spitz and German Spitz. This is a very tiny breed of dog and only grows up to about 12 inches at the shoulder.
* The canine in her can't resist a good game of fetch, tag, or tug of war!
* Her fur is often cut short to better deal with the heat of the island's warmer months... and to keep long fur from getting matted and caught on branches.
* She is supposed to be very cute and happy-go-lucky. Just don't get on her bad side!
* Curly tail!

On a random side note... parrots have ugly feet! VERY ugly feet!

Also, how did you paint and colour this (I assume the picture was once a pencil drawing, unless you drew it with a tablet)? I'm not sure how to go about colouring things like this just from a scanned pencil sketch..
