One thing (I think) we can all be thankful for Adventure Time, same with Regular Show, is the fact they basically saved Cartoon Network from the 'Dark ages' of there live-action,Β Reality ShowΒ BS. Just like all things in media (this case be it cartoons) they either fall in obscurity or, if lucky, are remembered generations to come. AT, run it's course, I'll always have all the good memories from the show. I'll always savior for weeks to come, until newer episodes of SU come along, then forgotten immediately. Ahh... The joys of shorten attention spans focused on what's popular now.

You're right. Adventure Time and Regular Show, along with The Amazing World of Gumball paved the way for them. If it wasn't for Adventure Time, then we wouldn't have Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, and other decent cartoons. Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel seem to be stuck in the Dark Ages. Nickelodeon has it worse though. At least Disney has Gravity Falls, Star VS the Forces of Evil, Wonder Over Yonder and they had Phineas and Ferb.Β

Adventure time needs to get back on its feet and earn its confidence again. Ever since Steven Universe, the show's been fading in its charm.

Adventure Time lost it charm around the Time Rebecca Sugar left to make Steven Universe. Sure their are some some good episodes Β once in a while, but never to the level of the earlier seasons (especially Season 03).

Adventure time and Regular show have lost their luster for sure. neither show is probably going to last much longer. But I feel based on how often these two shows now air on CN, that gumball and steven have taken the torch as the dynamic duo of the new bunch.

Y personaly think that adventure time is better than ever. But I never get the chance to deiscuss this with anyone.

Adventure kinda lost the fun and humor, they're trying too hard to be metaphorical and deep and a lot of the episodes just lost what the show originally had, which was the feeling of joy and exploration. It used to balance being serious with light hearted storytelling and humor, but it takes out a lot of the humor now and it just doesn't feel the same.
Regular show was always the way it was, even now though some episodes do kinda force the unexpected twists in now, when before it'd kinda smoothly sneak in, its doing better than adventure time, but right now both shows kinda are slowly falling out of popularity, with newer shows taking the stage, giving people joy and deep stories that they can relate too even more without getting confused in the metaphors adventure time strings into every episode, hell lemongrab's last episode was so confusing i still cannot figure out everything in it.
