As much as I've hated battling this beast, I've been waiting for someone to "MLP" the Kirin and I love it!

Wish I could catch it, but alas, the Elder Dragon can not be caught...and will proceed to murder squads of up to four hunters.
But seriously, Arch Tempered hunts are so fun and challenging, and the music is pretty great too.

Yeah, that's why I almost exclusively hunt solo. Bring that safety blanket and thunderproof mantle, you'll be well off. Maybe luck out and get that Felyne Insurance.

I hated the Tempered Kirin mission. Didn't even bother doing the Arch Tempered one. Arch Tempered Nergigante is something straight out of your nightmares.

Tempered are not that hard, but arch tempered one shot you with a lot of their attacks

It helps that I got help from other hunters with the Tempered Kirin.

This is why the next time I try to face off any Tempered Monsters, I just pray that I get a team that has decent equipment while I supply better items that heal all and boost attack and defense.

The crazy thing with Tempered and Arch Tempered Kirin is that they're both actually easier playing solo. Especially if you stack Lightning, Stun, and Paralysis Resist.
You might lose a decent bit of damage, but the durability that grants makes a huge difference.
AT Nergigante, on the other hand... he's a damn beast. Took me a LOT of tries, and my final victorious build was a build I hadn't used much before based on Immunizers and the Vaal Hazaak armor's Recovery boosting effect...
And both lots of practice, as well as a LOT of determination. Also sometimes just running away and pulling in another Gajalaka helper.

Fun fact:
In Monster Hunter, Kirin are what's known as an "Elder Dragon". ALL Elder Dragons are immune to traps, so capturing them is impossible.

paralysis is not as much of a problem as being one-shotted by lightning

Physical defense helps too, as a decent chunk of Kirin's moveset is just trampling or kicking you if he can.
