Deeply meditative and observative. Just the fact that you thought about the boy's phrasing enough to write about it expresses a lot. The poem gives us a little window into your intimate personal life.

it makes me so happy that everyone refers to him as "the boy" now. i don't feel so wierd when everyone else follows suite.
i'm not sure i'm going to continue with this style. but it's great to have your feedback. ^_^

I enjoyed it, but that 'tis just my view. Do as you wish; the water is free.

Someone once told me that a poem, or a piece of prose is like a child and that by not naming something we're infact denying our child our love, saying that we refuse to recognise it.
I know it's only humor and maybe I'm being unduely harsh in which case I apologise, however I've read your other work - though not commented - and this doesn't feel on par with them.

this form of poetry isn't usually my style. i wanted to try something new. new forms of poetry/writing are like pants. you stand in a dressing room wearing the same pants you've always worn and they seem kind of dull, even if they are the pants the suit your style best.
mayhaps i shouldn't try on these pants again. ^_^

I dont like pants. gimme a nice toga any day or some frilly flower print dress.
mind you, I'm a guy so neither would really suit.

lol not at all. but you were a part of the inspiration. ^_^
the boy hates sounding pretentious. he thinks it makes him sound emo. former punk boys don't appreciate the emo feeling.

Hey, that's the reason I am pretentious, so I don't get associated with emo. Tell him that there's a certain level of pretention where you get placed higher than emo boys. It's that mid-zone of pretentiousness that's teh dangerous one.
