Description
Aside from a few Gundams, I haven't built models before and I don't have tons of experience with water slide decals. For those reasons, I have searched forever for a Kirk era Enterprise to display with my Nx-01, D, and E, which are all very close to in scale with each other.Well apparently there isn't a toy the right size, about 10 inches long, to scale up with my ships... I had to get this Polar Lights model and do my best.
Its around 11 inches long but close enough. ... ... That's what she said. Sorry.
Over 115 decals that made my blood boil throughout a traumatic 6 hours of work, hah, then some added paint details like the transparent blue, black, and rust colored bits.
I guess it didn't come out too terrible though.

Hah, yeah I just don't build models much so for such a small and simple thing that was a lot of time for me.

The worst thing is that I don't feel safe playing around with the final product because I'm afraid a decal might tear.

That sucks. I have a model with water decals, and all I can do with it is let it sit and gather dust. I won't be doing that with any Gundam models I get.

All of the gundam models I ever got had just a hand full of stickers, not water slide decals. They fucking rule. All snap together and fun to build too.

I only have an SD kit so far, though I plan on getting some High Grades. I think the Real, Perfect, and Master Grades might have optional decal sets, though they don't come with the models. And yes, they ARE fun to build.

Excellent work on that.
I feel your pain on the decals, but it beats trying to mask off those panels and paint them

Oh lol I outright couldn't get remotely close to painting all of those details and it look even slightly good. Applying 116 decals was a PAIN though, and I didn't even add all there were. I don't know how people do the much larger models.
