on the charcoaled surface of your face.

watch your words
wind through stagnant air
and worm into cracks in the walls
wedging themselves in
deep.

i see your tears
illuminated by the traffic outside
and your breath misting on the
cold cold glass.

and in the light
of a wide open, unforgiving moon
i observe your heart
expand.
