Seems quite similar to Solar Slash's style, I really like it.

No problems with that. Hell, if you ever read Douglas Adams, you might find it vaguely familiar.
The main part is making sure you keep your style as the base, with only sprinklings of what makes other people look good.
I'll be honest, though, I prefer your style to Slash's. His is a little too anime for my tastes. You have a good style, like the show's, but better shaded.
