Iris leisurely paced the deck of the small trading vessel. It was unusual these days that she got to go on smaller guarding ventures since her promotion. Sometimes it felt she spent more time running between places checking patrols and guards and training sessions than she did actually doing her job. Though to be fair that was probably that organisation had BEEN her job...
A loud call of birdsong from one of the passing trees brought her back to the present and she flicked her ears for a source of the disturbance. She traced her eyes over

Mithras has a strong voice and an accent from her time at the city. She has some singing skill, deeming the musical skill of humans as one of the few things that makes them bearable. She doesn't sing around cats often, thinking the serious cats in Stone empire would judge her for her hobby. To humans, her attempts sound like caterwauling.

From the fighting in the Coliseum to that busy life of the city, Mithras love being active. She never really got to know other cat's that well in her early life and is determined to make the most of her new situation. And that means talking to everyone.

If any cat would burst into song, it would be Mithras. With a big, over-the-top attitude like hers, the regular routine of the empires gets to her causing her to act out with lots of energy and passion. She definitely an opportunist and will take advantage of situation if she can't see anything wrong. It does mean she doesn't take some situations seriously enough, leading to a big mess at the end.

Mithras is quite egotistical and confident in her own abilities, specially in battle. But keep an eye on this cat otherwise she will probably get stuck with a problem 10 times as big as she can actually handle.
- This prideful nature has lead her to jump to conclusions and speak without thinking. So she unintentionally offended some cats.

Mithras has learnt to be quite independent and so whilst she may lack social skills in some areas, she makes up for it in other areas. It is less that she knows more than others and more that she is slightly ahead of those her age in intellect. Older cats could easily out smart her. She does notice others weakness and solutions to problems fast than most though.
- Turns out a cat that has lived her whole life in the city doesn't know as much about the wild as she had thought. She still surpasses some on knowledge in areas (like how to navigate the city and blending into the cats there), however there are certain areas that are brand new to her. Hence, she thinks about stuff. A lot. Just don't point out this lack in knowledge, you'll regret it.

Due to her lack of true parental figures and the large amount of violence in her youth she doesn't fully understand why people get so emotional over fights. Due to her failure against Rowen the hunter's capture, Mithras feels that she has let the empire down, and hence doesn't actively approach cats unless looking for help with patrols or the like.

- Mithras as a love-hate relationship with the city: whilst it contains humans, it also contains lots of flowers, music, and pretty flames. She would destroy it if asked, however would dearly miss certain aspects.

BACKGROUND

Timeline of Events in Mithras' Life

Prolouge
[Coliseum Fighter]
Mithras was born to previous Coliseum fighters - both strong and horrifically scarred: fated for breeding. She was thrown into the cages as many were at a young age, the humans hoping that she would be a strong fighter despite her size. Whispers and insults flew around her ears. Goading her. Small. Weak. pathetic. It churned her stomach, wearing down her patience. She longed to prove them all wrong. Festering, this anger grew until until she faced the sun baked earth of the Coliseum. As she entered she could just hear her heart pounding through her ears above the commotion and energy of the crowd. Finally. This was her chance prove them all wrong, she would win. Her opponent was a undersized lynx, seized up with fear. As she raced towards them, the pitiful cub seemed to wake from a trance, narrowly dodging Mithras' first charge before given vague swipe in the Asian cat's direction. It didn't even connect as Mithras prepare her next attack. A nagging doubt wormed its way to the forefront of her mind as the cheers rang through her ears. Something that pressed her mind as she slept that night and through future battles. They were all weak. Whoever she was pitted against was always a cub, the runt of a litter, weak. Her face morphed into a snarl at the thought. She would show them. She fought hard. Better.
The attention. The action. The noise. She loved it.

Through her victories at the coliseum she had caught the eye of a local breeder and collector who sought out to buy her. Too young to fully understand the change in environment, Mithras blindly went with on, not questioning it until she heard the loud slam of a door behind her. Cold house floor and annoying collars were not the prizes Mithras had been expecting. Why had the human done this? She knew it was their fault she was stuck here. Here. Where was here? Everything was new, strange. There was a routine for everything, a measure of order to life. Peace. It really dull. With nothing to do, the golden eyed she-cat would lounge in the warm light of a window, deemed too high up for her to escape from. Here she would wait. Wait for the just the right moment.
  That moment came many moons later. The faint sound of music could be heard in the distance as fresh air and smells beckoned her. Mithras got up, stretching, her ears pricking up as the older cats harked on about the hunters again. She had pestered them when she first arrived for information but they all were as thick as bricks. She didn't care how much they claimed so, the "Hunters" were not Gods among cats. Not that she had ever met one, She mused, but perhaps today she would. She placed her paws on the wall with the window, smiling with satisfaction. Her claws only just curled over the edge but it was enough. With an undignified manor she hauled herself onto the frame, and for a moment she was shrouded in light. She could see for miles, beyond the houses and city gate into the lands beyond. The world was so vast and it was now within her reach.

Mithras didn't hang around in the city long before making her escape. Any cat with half a brain knew that her collar was a dead giveaway to any humans that she didn't belong out there. But she treasured those moons she spent there immersed in the busy life. Fresh, exotic foods she had never heard off filled her nose, whilst the sounds of music, salesmen, and the general bustle of life sung out from the rooftops. The constant presence of guards and hunter's kept her on her toes, made her feel alive. She knew it couldn't last but she would savour these moments for as long as she could.
  Through her snooping she had heard many things, including details on a specific group of cats. The Stone Empire. She wasn't too amused by the name but their battles against the hunters had caught her interest. Perhaps that would be the only place where she would fit in, sadly away from city, but also away from humans. And so she planned her escape and left for the empires. Her encounter with the Empire patrol that found her could have gone more... smoothly, but she managed to keep it together long enough to be taken to the leader as a trespasser and to plead her case.

Chapter One - "Power Corrupts" - 44BC
[First Impressions]
Upon joining the empire Mithras came across a wide variety of species that she didn't recognise (hybrids) and opinions that were new to her. But most of all, the cats here were just... grumpy? None of the few she saw near the empty main camp looked happy to be there. Hence, Mithras soon departed to explore for other felines in the empire which had scattered in the raid.
The first of these felines happened to be an apprentice called Erythros [RP and Picture] , which in Mithras's opinion, should have already been a gladiator. The two went on Mithras's first hunting patrol where she learned many things: mainly that the prey fought back harder than expected, and that the majority of the cats had congregated in a temporary camp around the beach. Her interest about this "coast" was peaked and she gravitated towards it, wanting to learn how to swim. Thanks to this, Mithras was present for the first gathering since the raid, and whilst she scoffed at the inactivity of the leader, she did learn of the Udi stepping down and encounter a friendly feline called Moreno [1] [2] [3] .
  Mithras continued her search for felines around the territory for a little longer afterwards, and soon encountered a tom by the name of Illya [Picture] . Despite is reclusive demeanour, he taught Mithras a lot about the empires and she grew to trust the tom. She also came across the mute Kessemi, in which they shared a friendly race back to camp [Picture]
One day, whilst practising swimming near camp however, Mithras encountered the ever so sweet lion known as Vincent. And whilst things started ok... he wasn't much fun. Mithras soon learnt that she would have to affirm her reasons for being there if she was to feel any loyalty to some of these cat's cause.
  Wanted to get out of camp after that, she enlisted the help of the Empire's healer Seeley [RP] . It was a nice breath of fresh air to both interact with someone positive and to brighten up the old camp with flowers as a memorial. And soon she felt comfortable enough to swim near camp again, she met the young cheetah known as Mercury [in progress RP].

[Fall's Requiem]
  [RP] Soon came the time where Mithras would have to finally chose whether or not to be loyal to this Empire which she had joined with such little information at the start. Using the skills she learnt prior she tracked down and tackled a hunter named Rowen. The two battled to near death, with Mithras only having the upper hand due to the element of surprise. Rowen surrendered, and Mithras gained the idea of getting cats which claimed to be able to kill hunters to prove it. Hence the feline took Rowen as hostage and began to escort him to his interrogation and supposed death.
  [RP] [Picture] Things didn't go to plan however as a storm fast approached the pair (Shadow Empire Flood maybe?) and with their current injuries they were forced to support each other towards secure shelter. [RP] Mithras from the following conversations soon decides that hunter's were loyal particularly because of selfish gains, and the first question towards her loyalty was presented. Mithras pushed it aside for the time being . [RP] When able to travel, the two collected supplies and tried to seal up Rowen's injury, however at the tom's reluctance, Mithras acted by force and the tensions rose more. [RP] Things only calmed down slightly upon hunting, although soon after Rowen took an opportunity to try escaping. Their injuries stops anything from happening, however it did mean that Mithras didn't trust the tom upon waking up. [RP] The tom proposed a challenge that meant the if she won, Rowen would be guaranteed a captive, and she agreed. [RP] However, when trying to use unknown territory to throw him off, she intern made herself vulnerable and so lost the challenge. However instead of capturing her, Rowen requested his freedom, that she look out for his father, and that she didn't tell anyone. Mithras didn't agree to lying, however affirmed that she would look out for the red caracal Rei. And then the two parted ways for the long trek back home.

She hated that she ended that confrontation with nicer thoughts to the hunters than before. She had to do something about that, but she just couldn't shift the feeling.

Chapter Two - "Ashes to Ashes" - 44BC to ??BC
[Shifting Tides]
Upon eventually coming back to the empire, Mithras alerted Theia of her fight with a hunter, telling Theia what she had said to Rowen she would say. It easiest explained her injury and was honest about the experience. A feeling of guilt still lingered however in that she had still let the leader down by Rowen escaping. Hence when the previous silver Udi approach her asking if she wanted to do a patrol, she took the opportunity to learn from the more experienced cat. [in progress RP]. She also tried to get to know 2 new cats like Mirela and Brisha. Mirela even helped her to swim, but Brisha said something that caught Mithras's interest... the rest of the wild?
Then she met Sia. Sia was a lovely cat, and shared many of Mithras's worries about the hunter situaiton. However, Mithras's sence of guilt grew strong again, torn between loyalty to empire and hunters and she blurted out a new plan of hers. One that required no fighting, only a lack of morality. Her partner didn't respond great to that but Mithras decided to try and continue as if everything was fine. It was, wasn't it?
She didn't get much further before the gathering and they were both together when she got her first apprentice, a great moment of exciment for her. They trusted her to train one? She would teach them her ways, not of savagery but of something more effective. Minori hard-working attitude easily appealed to her. Mercury was also at the gathering, which she loved and with him they both got to know the new silver, who later became leader. Things were progressing along and she was lying in wait for the right opportunity.

PHYSICAL TRAITSArmour and Items:
  Leather cloak w/ brass chain - Mithras's main piece of Armour. As she believes that the empire's should try and remove themselves from humans as much as possible, she has limited her armour to a few pieces (because armour resources are often gathered from raids on humans). Since the events of Chapter 1, she now wears it more actively on patrols if she remembers.
   Leather leg support - With a permanently weakened wrist, Mithras got a heavily made-up support so that in larger battles the injury doesn't effect her as much, and so it is full protected. On smaller patrols and around camp, she doesn't wear it as it slows her down slightly.
Red sandstone - A small, rounded stone she keeps by her nest. This acts as a reminder to hurry up and find Rei so she is no longer indebted to a hunter.

Weak. pathetic. It churned her stomach, wearing down her patience. She longed to prove them all wrong. Festering, this anger grew until until she faced the sun baked earth of the Coliseum. As she entered she could just hear her heart pounding through her ears above the commotion and energy of the crowd. Finally. This was her chance prove them all wrong, she would win. Her opponent was a undersized lynx, seized up with fear. As she raced towards them, the pitiful cub seemed to wake from a trance, narrowly dodging Mithras' first charge before given vague swipe in the Asian cat's direction. It didn't even connect as Mithras prepare her next attack. A nagging doubt wormed its way to the forefront of her mind as the cheers rang through her ears. Something that pressed her mind as she slept that night and through future battles. They were all weak. Whoever she was pitted against was always a cub, the runt of a litter, weak. Her face morphed into a snarl at the thought. She would show them. She fought hard. Better.
The attention. The action. The noise. She loved it.

Through her victories at the coliseum she had caught the eye of a local breeder and collector who sought out to buy her. Too young to fully understand the change in environment, Mithras blindly went with on, not questioning it until she heard the loud slam of a door behind her. Cold house floor and annoying collars were not the prizes Mithras had been expecting. Why had the human done this? She knew it was their fault she was stuck here. Here. Where was here? Everything was new, strange. There was a routine for everything, a measure of order to life. Peace. It really dull. With nothing to do, the golden eyed she-cat would lounge in the warm light of a window, deemed too high up for her to escape from. Here she would wait. Wait for the just the right moment.
  That moment came many moons later. The faint sound of music could be heard in the distance as fresh air and smells beckoned her. Mithras got up, stretching, her ears pricking up as the older cats harked on about the hunters again. She had pestered them when she first arrived for information but they all were as thick as bricks. She didn't care how much they claimed so, the "Hunters" were not Gods among cats. Not that she had ever met one, She mused, but perhaps today she would. She placed her paws on the wall with the window, smiling with satisfaction. Her claws only just curled over the edge but it was enough. With an undignified manor she hauled herself onto the frame, and for a moment she was shrouded in light. She could see for miles, beyond the houses and city gate into the lands beyond. The world was so vast and it was now within her reach.

Mithras didn't hang around in the city long before making her escape. Any cat with half a brain knew that her collar was a dead giveaway to any humans that she didn't belong out there. But she treasured those moons she spent there immersed in the busy life. Fresh, exotic foods she had never heard off filled her nose, whilst the sounds of music, salesmen, and the general bustle of life sung out from the rooftops. The constant presence of guards and hunter's kept her on her toes, made her feel alive. She knew it couldn't last but she would savour these moments for as long as she could.
  Through her snooping she had heard many things, including details on a specific group of cats. The Stone Empire. She wasn't too amused by the name but their battles against the hunters had caught her interest. Perhaps that would be the only place where she would fit in, sadly away from city, but also away from humans. And so she planned her escape and left for the empires. Her encounter with the Empire patrol that found her could have gone more... smoothly, but she managed to keep it together long enough to be taken to the leader as a trespasser and to plead her case.

Chapter One - "Power Corrupts" - 44BC
[First Impressions]
Upon joining the empire Mithras came across a wide variety of species that she didn't recognise (hybrids) and opinions that were new to her. But most of all, the cats here were just... grumpy? None of the few she saw near the empty main camp looked happy to be there. Hence, Mithras soon departed to explore for other felines in the empire which had scattered in the raid.
The first of these felines happened to be an apprentice called Erythros [RP and Picture] , which in Mithras's opinion, should have already been a gladiator. The two went on Mithras's first hunting patrol where she learned many things: mainly that the prey fought back harder than expected, and that the majority of the cats had congregated in a temporary camp around the beach. Her interest about this "coast" was peaked and she gravitated towards it, wanting to learn how to swim. Thanks to this, Mithras was present for the first gathering since the raid, and whilst she scoffed at the inactivity of the leader, she did learn of the Udi stepping down and encounter a friendly feline called Moreno [1] [2] [3] .
  Mithras continued her search for felines around the territory for a little longer afterwards, and soon encountered a tom by the name of Illya [Picture] . Despite is reclusive demeanour, he taught Mithras a lot about the empires and she grew to trust the tom. She also came across the mute Kessemi, in which they shared a friendly race back to camp [Picture]
One day, whilst practising swimming near camp however, Mithras encountered the ever so sweet lion known as Vincent. And whilst things started ok... he wasn't much fun. Mithras soon learnt that she would have to affirm her reasons for being there if she was to feel any loyalty to some of these cat's cause.
  Wanted to get out of camp after that, she enlisted the help of the Empire's healer Seeley [RP] . It was a nice breath of fresh air to both interact with someone positive and to brighten up the old camp with flowers as a memorial. And soon she felt comfortable enough to swim near camp again, she met the young cheetah known as Mercury [in progress RP].

[Fall's Requiem]
  [RP] Soon came the time where Mithras would have to finally chose whether or not to be loyal to this Empire which she had joined with such little information at the start. Using the skills she learnt prior she tracked down and tackled a hunter named Rowen. The two battled to near death, with Mithras only having the upper hand due to the element of surprise. Rowen surrendered, and Mithras gained the idea of getting cats which claimed to be able to kill hunters to prove it. Hence the feline took Rowen as hostage and began to escort him to his interrogation and supposed death.
  [RP] [Picture] Things didn't go to plan however as a storm fast approached the pair (Shadow Empire Flood maybe?) and with their current injuries they were forced to support each other towards secure shelter. [RP] Mithras from the following conversations soon decides that hunter's were loyal particularly because of selfish gains, and the first question towards her loyalty was presented. Mithras pushed it aside for the time being . [RP] When able to travel, the two collected supplies and tried to seal up Rowen's injury, however at the tom's reluctance, Mithras acted by force and the tensions rose more. [RP] Things only calmed down slightly upon hunting, although soon after Rowen took an opportunity to try escaping. Their injuries stops anything from happening, however it did mean that Mithras didn't trust the tom upon waking up. [RP] The tom proposed a challenge that meant the if she won, Rowen would be guaranteed a captive, and she agreed. [RP] However, when trying to use unknown territory to throw him off, she intern made herself vulnerable and so lost the challenge. However instead of capturing her, Rowen requested his freedom, that she look out for his father, and that she didn't tell anyone. Mithras didn't agree to lying, however affirmed that she would look out for the red caracal Rei. And then the two parted ways for the long trek back home.

She hated that she ended that confrontation with nicer thoughts to the hunters than before. She had to do something about that, but she just couldn't shift the feeling.

Chapter Two - "Ashes to Ashes" - 44BC to ??BC
[Shifting Tides]
Upon eventually coming back to the empire, Mithras alerted Theia of her fight with a hunter, telling Theia what she had said to Rowen she would say. It easiest explained her injury and was honest about the experience. A feeling of guilt still lingered however in that she had still let the leader down by Rowen escaping. Hence when the previous silver Udi approach her asking if she wanted to do a patrol, she took the opportunity to learn from the more experienced cat. [in progress RP]. She also tried to get to know 2 new cats like Mirela and Brisha. Mirela even helped her to swim, but Brisha said something that caught Mithras's interest... the rest of the wild?
Then she met Sia. Sia was a lovely cat, and shared many of Mithras's worries about the hunter situaiton. However, Mithras's sence of guilt grew strong again, torn between loyalty to empire and hunters and she blurted out a new plan of hers. One that required no fighting, only a lack of morality. Her partner didn't respond great to that but Mithras decided to try and continue as if everything was fine. It was, wasn't it?
She didn't get much further before the gathering and they were both together when she got her first apprentice, a great moment of exciment for her. They trusted her to train one? She would teach them her ways, not of savagery but of something more effective. Minori hard-working attitude easily appealed to her. Mercury was also at the gathering, which she loved and with him they both got to know the new silver, who later became leader. Things were progressing along and she was lying in wait for the right opportunity.

PHYSICAL TRAITSArmour and Items:
  Leather cloak w/ brass chain - Mithras's main piece of Armour. As she believes that the empire's should try and remove themselves from humans as much as possible, she has limited her armour to a few pieces (because armour resources are often gathered from raids on humans). Since the events of Chapter 1, she now wears it more actively on patrols if she remembers.
   Leather leg support - With a permanently weakened wrist, Mithras got a heavily made-up support so that in larger battles the injury doesn't effect her as much, and so it is full protected. On smaller patrols and around camp, she doesn't wear it as it slows her down slightly.
Red sandstone - A small, rounded stone she keeps by her nest. This acts as a reminder to hurry up and find Rei so she is no longer indebted to a hunter.

Weak Wrist - Mithras's broken wrist from [Fall's requiem] never fully healed (no surprise there, it didn't get properly set for ages) and so now that wrist is weaker. If not focusing, she will walk with a slight limp.
