Well look at that, a new character.I was supposed to design so many other characters but ended up drawing this dude. He was basically an accident--
I feel like this is a character who won't belong to any stories, and will be there just for the fun of drawing him.
And I'm not that picky with his clothes either, just because I could draw different outfits for him now and then.
This is basically just for the general style I'm going for.
Oh yeah, this is the 2000th picture in my gallery yeee

Yea, yea, aestheic, but in good design most things have it´s reason (more just "i like it") especaly things that people will pay attention . And if you don´t have one just say, i wont get mad or anything.
For now_ OK.
But have on mind that if you want to show character, then show it or if there is part that is "censored" make better reason for it the "i like it", ´cuz one day you cross way with person that will want this better reason. Belive that if you will not have this "better reason" there are only three outcomes:
1. you will "shout" as amateur
2. you ignore it
3. you will retret
...and in the end only 3. option will not hurt your reputation and also give you something.
So consider that even if it´s for you unimportant character, hawe at least some lore around it.
Also these "pepole will pay attention" things, are things that clearly "don´t belong" there. But i guess that is more individual thing. So consither this just something to think abou it.
BTW: Bit universal answer is "I didn´t think about it yet.". But don´t let it be just words if you say it, ´cuz if you use this too often with out of resoults and some one notices this, it will just fall on same level as "i like it".

The reason is why I said it's only aesthetic is because, yes I have an general idea/lore of what's it for, but it's not complete.
I usually design my characters just to look cool, and later on come up with their story and reasons why they are how they are. For example, it took me a year before I came up with the reason why Media Controls had different amount of eyes. Well, it's to show how many times they have respawned.
If I didn't take my time, the reason would have been something half-assed probably.
And what about this dude?
Well, depending on where I wanna use him, the story may change. He was supposed to be my mascot, aka. The Unknown Spy, but the design didn't fit the role/style of a spy, so the censor bar was left from the "unknown" part.
However, since I had a previous attempt for a mascot, Isac (a blue flame head guy), I thought I might throw this guy in my Zero-Degrees story where Isac currently is.
In that case the idea for this guys story would be, since that concept has to do with a prison, and fighting tournaments, I thought the censor bar would be something the prison guards had to put on him because his eyes has something to do with powers and abilities, so he can't use them.
And the scar is there because he (or someone else) tried to remove it, damaging his face.
The reason why I didn't tell this earlier is because I don't like to publish half thought out stories. I want to keep my options open. But since you insisted me to have a reason for every design choise right away, and not let me think through it and maybe develop this thing further, it is what it is.
But since this is a new character, the concept may change.
So that's why I don't tell people the half finished story, because it may change and I don't want people to get too attached to the story before I am sure what I am gonna do.
That's why don't insist for a character designer to tell their ideas before they have published the whole information about the character.
It's not that I didn't know about that stuff. I am constantly trying to develop my characters out of the public, so you won't be using inaccurate information of half finished characters. I don't like when characters have loose ends in their story and/or design. I do want explanation for everything. Well at least most of the things.
I suppose my previous "aesthetic" answer was pretty rude, so I'm sorry about that. But I am careful on what I share about my characters online before they are complete.

Enough for me and enough for any person who want to see you work on your chars.
And design is not exaclly:"You can´t have time to think about it." but about thinking immediately during drawing.
But I must say in this situation i will be hypocritical, ´cuz I also like tactics "Draw what is cool and then think."
So my advices are:
"Don´t worry to post ruff idea."
Sence people can suggest ideas that you don´t think about, or you have this amazing idea, but you must re-boot whole story or character. And belive that re-boot unfinished concept is mutch more easier then fully developt idea.
"Write/draw your storyes."
Ok, I don´t go thrue your gallery to know if you doing this, but if not, drawing/writng your story down helpes you to organize your thoughts and better see errors in it.
"Answer with the shortest senteces posible ."
If you don´t want to spoil whole story (idea), but want people to be saitisfied, learn what are key words of theyr question.
