Description
I finally have a character that'll fit on a lot of ychs thank god
Anyway, I got this bab a few days ago, and I did some redesigning on 'em since he's based off a canon character and I wish I could make him a biiiiit more original but dear god I love his design
Bio:
Full name: Hibaske Achroma
Gender: cis male
Age: 35
Birthday: March 1st
Sexuality: asexual aromantic
Species: American white shepherd cyborg
Power: ice breath
theme: The Housekeeper Saw!
Playlist: Hibaske
Personality:
It's no surprise that someone with coolant for blood has a cold personality. Hes' prone to snapping at literally anything he deems to be a waste of time, and is generally a pretty creepy and unsettling person to be around. He feels that his life should be entirely dedicated to his work and anything that isn't work isn't worth his acknowledgement, and would die to protect anyone suffering from the effects of their freezing world. While he doesn't hate himself and has a sense of self-respect, Hibaske has no sense of self love and views himself simply as a tool to be used in saving the lives of others. This causes him to overwork himself and believe that he has no reason to live outside of fulfilling his purpose, which he is content with. He becomes upset when told he has more of a purpose than just his research, stating that he was specially bred to and was given his abilities specifically for his purpose. His colleagues are unsure if this is due to faulty programming in the self-awareness system that helps give him human-like intelligence, or if he was conditioned to have no sense of self love, due to being treated more like research material rather than an actual pet or person, but they tend to avoid the topic around him to avoid upsetting him or sending him into a crisis. The other scientists do respect and love him, but realize that he is technically a experimental research subject, and treat him as such.
Likes:
the cold
working
creeping people out
electronic music
tardigrades
his previous owner and other scientists working with him
Dislikes:
hot weather
being distracted
people who bother him
people in general
hunting
History:
Hibaske is an experiment created by Achroma labs to test the possibility of survival in extreme climates, due to rapidly dropping temperatures. He was one of the many puppies chosen to be part of the experiment after multiple successes on lab rats. These puppies underwent a process that turned their blood to antifreeze to prevent them from freezing in extremely frigid temperatures, then were placed in cryogenic chambers. After 5 years in the chambers, Hibaske was the only survivor, and one of the lead scientists, Cryo Achroma, took him in after the failed experiments, as Hibaske was close to death as well. Achroma fitted Hibaske with a much stronger antifreeze system in order to prevent him from ever perishing in such conditions again, as well as multiple other enhancements that allowed him to talk, gain higher intelligence, and essentially become a living computer. Hibaske spent 15 years with Achroma, retesting the experiments with him until Achroma's own inevitable death once he could no longer survive the freezing temperatures. All of Acroma's research was then transferred to Hibaske, and he has continued Achroma's work ever since.
Relationships:
Power:
Hibaske can use his antifreeze to breathe out a toxic smoke for protection
Physical Appearance:
His spikes, tubes, left tooth, and ear tips are filled with coolant. These coolant stores are fixed to his body and cannot be removed. This coolant also serves as his blood, and breaking the stores will kill him
Hibaske's blood is actually florescent orange, but his tubes are coated in a thick blue glass. The stark contrast of orange against blue is in indicator that he's bleeding.
Technology and survival
EABS
The External Antifreeze Blood System, or EABS, functions similarly to the antifreeze properties of the Greenland shark, by using cryoprotective proteins to prevent ice formation in cells. It slows down Hibaske's metabolism greatly, making his movements and reaction time incredibally sluggish. He can temporarily lower the level of antifreeze proteins within his "blood" to allow him to move at the speed of a normal dog, enabling him to run and hunt, however it takes time to lower the level of antifreeze in his blood, so he must plan out any exerting physical activities beforehand.
computer
Hibaske has a small supercomputer within his brain. This computer is what allows Hibaske to have human intelligence, contact others wirelessly, do complex math and science, check and predict the temperature and weather, and permanently store the information about Achroma's research, among other more "traditional" computer functions. This research is incredibally difficult to edit, even for Hibaske, to prevent any possible tampering with it. Because of the computer's power, it's prone to overheating. If this happens, Hibaske must quit doing whatever he's doing to allow the computer to cool down, so that he doesn't risk frying the computer or altering his body temperature. The computer's cooling is additionally aided by the EABS and his large ears, which release heat. This computer, while highly secure, isn't impossible to alter and still has a possibility of failure. He guards the computer with his life because it's failure could could revert him back to the intelligence of a normal dog or even kill him. The only way to repair the computer for physical problems is through surgery.
The computer can also download and transfer information through ports in Hibaske's EABS. The computer can store up to 2.5 petabytes of memory, and Hibaske can control if he would like any specific information or memory to be permanently saved.
biology
Hibaske was born with a completely white coat, but his fur is now dyed with several permanent dyes that make him easier to spot against snow and ice, but are still subtle enough to allow him to hunt without alarming his prey, and avoid predators.
He is able to balance on his hind legs for an extended period of time, and manipulate his toes on his front paws much like human hands due to surgical modifications to his paws and legs.
Because of the inital cryogenic experiment, Hibaske looks 5 years younger than he actually is, due to the inability to age in the cryogenic chambers. Hibaske is also able to survive for such an extremely long time as a dog due to his extremely slow metabolism. At 35 years old, he is the oldest dog in the world.
emergency features
To deal with the harsh conditions of the world he lives in, Hibaske has several emergency features, including the ability to go into a sudden hibernation to prevent freezing, by both eliminating 70% of the water in his body, and maximizing the level of antifreeze in his blood. In this state, Hibaske cannot physically move, but his computer is still able to process information around him. He can stay in this state for around 3 weeks maximum before he needs food and water. He can survive in temperatures as low as -35 degrees Fahrenheit, and temperatures as high as 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermometers on his cuffs measure his internal temperature.
Hibaske's computer is similar to that of a plane's black box. Heavily protected to be able to survive a multitude of disaster situations, including extreme heat, cold, pressure, and more.
He can breathe out a toxic smoke to deter predators, however while doing this, he must be careful not to breathe it in himself, and he can only use an extremely minute amount. This amount however, is often still enough to cause antifreeze poisoning in most small to medium sized animals.

Yeah, his original design was based off him: toyhou.se/743619.hibaske/galle…
but I changed it up a bit to suit my tastes more and make him a bit more original
But aaaa thanks!!

ahh how do you focus on so many different OCs at once and come up with such good ideas?? i struggle with this so much-- i mainly use alby and i cant think of many diverse characters, and when i do i just lose interest in them---
this is a really creative idea and i love his design gfhgjdfgh

It's mostly because I can't stand to have my characters exist in a vacuum, so I end up fleshing out their worlds and characters that they interact with and such. Though when it comes to balancing out different ocs, its not really that I can focus on lots of ocs at once, but that I focus on 1-3 at a time, and they just switch every once in a while, but thank you!!
