Description
Same animation, different costumeIn this case i was interested in how a dynamic bunny costume i made moves with the body.
Very well, it turns out.
I used the same trick for the clothing that i used for the last animation.
I started with the aiko mesh. Applied a young morph setting of 1.1 to make sure the resulting mesh is within the body i'm fitting to. Exported the parts i needed as an obj, modified it in hexagon to form the bunny suit and re-imported it back into poser.
I had to make sure the points at the top of the breasts were constrained otherwise gravity pulls it down
I used an offset of 0.2 for a snug fit and about 10 frames of draping to fit.
Works like a charm.

me too
i'm working on it
i'm just learning so it takes me a while to work out a good motion. once i gain more experience, i'll be able to do things better and faster

magic
in the form of poser 7 and patience
if you want to play with cgi figures you could start with the affordable (free!!) Daz Studio . Daz also makes great figures, most of which are free in their basic version. The one I use all the time is called Aiko 3 and is free. There are also things you can add into the mix such as CatGirl and tons of textures, morphs, hair, objects, scenes, etc. It's like a cgi version of Barbie(tm) .
Another good site for free content is renderosity . Most places like Daz have a club where, for a fairly cheap price, you get tons of free stuff and deep discounts.
There's lot's of non-free software as well. Poser 7 isn't free but is relatively inexpensive. For generating outdoor terrain there's the free product Terragen . They have a version 2 in beta which promises to be very cool. The limited version is free so you might want to check it out. There are also non-free versions of Terragen with more features. Vue does outdoor scenery as well and also comes in many versions from very inexpensive to very expensive, depending on the features you want.
There's enough free stuff out there that with a little effort, patience, and imagination would allow you to generate cgi on par with the best stuff. Have fun

Yes I have Daz3d, and I have used it for pose references, though it still is not as bendy as a normal human person is, or at least I can't figure out how to get it to be

cool. that's what poser was intended for originally (hence the name) . it has since become a rendering tool all its own.
under more extreme poses, the deformations don't look right since it's a 2 dimensional approximation of a persons skin, pulled into a 3rd dimension.
that's why most poser scenes are people in limited positions. action scenes are difficult. and few people can make it produce anything as free as illustrating.
which is why i've decided to play with animation. if i want to draw, i could just *do* that

thanks
started as just the suit since the animation was about the piece of dynamic clothing i made.
when i saw the first few frames i thought "bunny!" so i went back and added the freebie ears, collar, and cuffs from the ISOP bunny costume. i used velvet texture again since it plays so nicely with the light - shows off the wrinkles when her hips move.

I love your 2 deviations with animations! Your girls are beautiful ^^!
You should make the same animation on an other girl (with a bikini and sneakers). I think it will be cool!

unreal-blue In reply to SPElzo [2007-05-23 05:41:40 +0000 UTC]
thanks a bikini is the next piece of dynamic clothing i plan on making sometime this week.
the animation let me know if the dynamic clothing drapes correctly. if i do everything right, the figure can move and the clothing moves like real clothing. or at least like real clothing on a runway, where strategic double-sided tape is used to keep the clothes from falling off the models

It seems hard and long to make an animation like that.

unreal-blue In reply to SPElzo [2007-05-23 15:59:23 +0000 UTC]
it takes a little learning. But once you know how to use all the tools, it's not so hard. Learning how a body moves takes some thought
it takes a long time for the computer to render it - about 4 minutes per frame with all the lighting effects turned on. And there's 30 frames per second so about 2 hours of computer time for each second of movie for the little 400x600 image.
