Description oddly, i have no idea where this came from.

it was not intentional (i hate the new year's holiday)

it started as playing with dynamic clothing then drifted to shaders.

i've just been happy that i can now finally get poser to use 4 threads to render. as long as i don't tell it to use separate processes. when i do that, it hits what looks to be a race condition into a deadlock and dies.

so i'm happy.

on another front, i'm sad. i need to take my little dog to the emergency room again. he's old and his fight with cancer last year aged him. he is one of the <5% of dogs to survive the type of cancer he had. and he survived it perfectly. but the fight took a lot of strength out of him.

Lovely work, like all your stuff

I especially like how you did the rug. Fur is always a challenge to render.

and thanks for the too

he's up and walking but a little slow. neurologist says he has a bad back. possible herniated disk. so mostly bed rest for him. for such a hyper little dog, that's a hard thing. at least his cough medicine pretty much knocks him out.

that's good to hear; here's hoping like his year's gonna pick up once he gets better again. hehe, and i know how hard it can be to convince a dog that it actually needs to take it easy; good luck on that front, too!

he's a tough little dog still generally happy being a dog. as long as they're happy with their doggy-ness, it's good, right?

he's holding together. his cough medicine makes him kind of stoned. so he sits next to my computer either staring out at the colored lights or snoring.

he's in confinement for 3 weeks until his follow up visit with a neurologist. no running, no jumping, and lots of doggy downers.

Beautiful render, especially the posing, framing and lighting. Sorry about your dog. Just today I watched a movie where a little dog died and I cried like a baby...

that's the hardest part about having a dog. facing up to the fact that their lives are so much shorter. i suppose we have to fact that with everything, sooner or later. the only absolute truism in this universe...

My dad and I used to run a kennel where we rose (over 10 years) about 144 German Shepperds. I got used to being with a dozen puppies all the time since childhood, but now pets are not allowed here where I live and I have no dogs at all - so all I can do is cheer for the pets of others. ^^

wow. that's a lot of dogs

if it wasn't for having a dog around, people would think i'm talking to myself all the time

ken1171 In reply to unreal-blue [2008-01-28 21:27:21 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but it doesn't look so many when we only had about a dozen at once. But over the years it added up to 144 cute & fluffy pups.
