TERF is an acronym for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist. The name doesn't make sense, because it would imply there are Radfems who aren't trans exclusionary. A radical feminists idea is that all men, or women born as men, opress women. The idea comes from the fact that even after surgery, a woman who was born as a man would have the muscle structure, and therefore strenght of a man. That is why they don't want them in girls bathrooms. Bathrooms are a safe space for a lot of women, where a man can not come inside without having eyes on him. But if that man is considered a woman now, and allowed in the bathroom, it would take away a safe space women had from sex offenders etc.
My point is that İf a radical feminst was not a terf, their ideas would contridict each other.
I should also say, my source of their ideas are my radfem sister and a few tumblr blogs ı follow, some radical, some liberal feminists.
