Hello bananazodiac92!
First I thank you for giving me a bit of your time for this critics. I really do appreciate.
I understand and see what you mean concerning eyebrows. It's important for me to have this kind of feedback, it allows me to be better on the same kind of portraits. For all the rest of what you wrote : huge thanks!

I love the depth of the hair- the shadows are awesome. I also really love all the details of her lips, especially in the light areas. The details like the slight colour to her cheeks and the freckles are amazing also, it gives her a realistic look.
The glow inside her nostrils is a bit weird though- it should be darker, that area of her face, even if just slightly since it looks like a glow from a fire or somesuch. Her eyes also look strange- I think the colour is too washed out and dull, but that could have been on purpose. I do think they'd be much more suited to the picture if they were brighter however, specifically since the beautiful bright blues and greens of the background kind of drown them out.
Overall awesome work, very realistic and vibrant. I'm not a 3D artist so sorry I can't be much more help than that. >__<

Thank you for your critics.
I understand what you say concerning eyes and nostrils. The rest of what you mention is indeed made on purpose.
I did not want to modify eyes or nostrils since it was an "exercise" for me to get better: making a portrait with poser 9 without any postwork allowed (I enjoy challenging myself). There were many other shots of my "dreamer of infinity", this one is the best I had, after many and many hours of work

Thanks a lot! I thought people using starter suits would appreciate to see the first steps of an outfit development! That's very nice from you to give me this feedback!

Yes, Dublin for V4.2. A really really wonderful texture! With SSS for poser!

Yes pity I cannot use it in Daz/Reality renders the SSS comes out too glossy only.

Same problem for me, I have not managed to create nice SSS in luxrender. That's also why I'm beginning to try and understand on Octane how to fake SSS better, and initial results are pretty promising.

Really? Ok do send me the links for the ones with Octane so I can have a look, thanks.

No problem : SSS and Fake SSS, the first one using poser to octane pluggin, the rest are real and fake SSS.

Thanks, I noted that they are still working on the Daz version. But, mine is an imac i7, as you know their graphic card is on the main motherboard - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 1GB GDDR5; will this be sufficient I wonder. Octane is probably going to coast about 90euros too! Wow that is a lot of money.

V3Digitimes In reply to AOGRAI [2013-03-21 08:17:41 +0000 UTC]
As far as I tested it, Octane is really great for small scenes. Really.
But for larger scenes, you are limited by the number and size of texture maps, their total memory required must be bellow the memory of your card and the number of texture is limited to 64 for color ones and 32 (I think) for greyscales.
Sometimes I have problem and I'm forced either to use the texture atlas on daz or to reduce the size of the maps. But for small scenes, wow! I have an Nvidia 560.
For larger scenes I'm still using luxrender via reality on DAZ.
Concerning Mac I don't know at all how it works.

Nah its Kool, no worries. I shall stick to my low end stuff cos that is what I know for now.
I still have yet to learn and master Luxrender... so Octane will just have to wait... looks kool and all but beyond my budget range.

Reality 3 is coming for (Daz and) poser and will be really a good and lower cost solution!

Perhaps, but I already have 2.5... how much better will 3 be to 2.5?

V3Digitimes In reply to AOGRAI [2013-03-25 11:00:33 +0000 UTC]
I saw the demo on poser. So I can only answer for the poser version : much much much better.
You have many things with presets, including SSS and very customizable. If you have 2.5 the crossgrade for poser will be around $15 if I remember well.

Thank you very much for this nice comment. I used a software called poser which allows you to "pose" and "morph" characters, place your light and cameras, and then render the scene. I spent a lot of time working on lighting, framing and expression. And here it is!
