Description
TIE Predator from the Star Wars: Legacy comicI like the design better than the old iconic TIE Fighters. Not entirely accurate, or detailed, due to lack of reference materials
Not going to do much more detail. If I decide to factor them into the Star Wars animation (which I'm still only planning, not commiting) then then I'll only use this one for close ups, and make another low(er)poly model for use en-mass
All things said and done, Empire-in-Exile/Fel Empire ftw! Screw the Darth Krayt's Empire and the Galactic Alliance Remnant

Oh hell yes!
The TIE predator was made around a hundred and thirty years after the destruction of the first death star. Everything about it is superior, as it's made from superior technology.
It was made as the stock-standard Imperial Fighter for the Fel Empire. Stronger hull, faster engines, stronger weapons, stong shields, hyperdrive engine - the works. It is to the TIE fighter, like a fighter jet is to a crop duster!
Oh, and thanks for all the faves!

Thanks! The Predator's a great design, which is why my model looks good despite being half completed

hmm... wonder if anyone's worked this ship into Empire at War...

There is a Legacy Era mod out there, but I'm not sure how good it is. TIE Predators only show up at tier 4 or something, which I find completely redundant for a main fighter
It would be great if Lucas Arts capitalized on success of Empire at War with the different time periods - mainly Clone Wars, Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, Imperial-Sith War/Legacy Era, KoTOR/Great Galactic War time periods. It would rake in not only a large amount of cash to which they could line their (already heavily stuffed) pockets with, but also please the Expanded Universe Star Wars fans

Meh, just found out the replacement gaming computer can't support EAW.
Still I love the Predator design.

That sucks
Although you're right, it's a very nice design

It's a manned ship, so sayth the guy who designed it. I assume this class has an entirely digital interface, instead of a 50/50 digital/visual interface that the old TIE-Fighters had

Jan Duursema, the artist for Legacy, is a woman, actually.
I agree, the Predator is a cool looking ship and you did a great job rendering it, but I have to say that I've always thought the thinly spaced slats on the viewport was the stupidest design choice ever.

Ah well, I stand corrected
I remember reading that the slates are a visual choice only. It's all controlled via electronic sensors and equipment. The ones that still have the viewport are for wing leaders and are still only cosmetic choice as far as I know

Yes that's right, but I still think it's a dumb cosmetic choice, sensors or not.
