I can't tell you how insane I get about Miscats...especially in the 3D section
There are so many screencapped images that come through dA, whether from video-games or online chat deals (like IMVU, sims or Second Life) that get placed in 3D that it's just nuts.I wish that people would read the rules about what can and can't be submitted, or just plain read the gallery descriptions...
It would save the gallery directors and the volunteers a huge amount of time cleaning up the messed other people make!

I can't even look at the New tab for the Pixel Art section anymore without getting a headache and spiralling into depression (jk), lmao. D;

i'm def with you. i've taken it on as a mission. sometimes i'm not sure where to put things, but i try to chose the best area. but so many people i swear dont even look. sheesh.

I mostly report non-emotes in the Emoticons gallery. I've seen screenshots there.

it is so in every gallery, you should see stuff in photography...not only miscats due to not reading, but putting stuff in that is not photography at all, not to mention friends in animals or plants
i can say that some categories are not quite well defined, and can lead to a mistake esp if someone is not good in english, but people that unintentionally do a miscat are imho in minority, most of them are lazy to read or even do it intentionally. and eve found a few that were rude when i tried to tell them the image is beautiful but not a photo but manipulation or something

I completely understand, I'm adding this to my journal because I report any miscats I see and I hate it when someone puts a deviation in a wrong gallery, or posts something that isn't allowed.

I agree mostly.
My only problem is that I took a picture of the Moon and some clouds and had it under "sky" rather than "astrophotography," because it was of the sky--CLOUDS and the Moon (not a close-up!)--but they relocated it. First, I wanted it in SKY because it is a picture of the SKY, but now I can't move it back! D:
So, yeah, my conclusion is that people should watch it too, because if it's not necessary to move it, then leave it be. Just maybe it was on purpose! *GASPAGE* O NOEZ WHUT.

I feel your pain -- half the crap that's uploaded to the Anthro Gallery isn't anthro in the least, and poor ^skifi and ^cooley have had one heck of a time trying to clean it up. There are some days I just feel plain bad sending in that many miscat reports.

Nice stamp. I agree that people should submit to the right categories. I think it allows a lot of leniency, but they should at least be able to submit digital art to digital and traditional to traditional. Even if all the rest is left under miscelanious.

When you're going through your submissions there is a button at the bottom of the submission screen that says "Gallery Info". Click on that and it will give you a lot of information on what's allowed in the gallery you selected
