Oil on hard board. 60 x 60 cm.From autumn 2006. It's an alternate version of My Sky . I eventually decided that the simplicity of [link] works better.
Had a look at it yesterday evening, and thought: meh, it's not that bad. Let's put it up.
The idea was to have a landscape in the background that would be partly abstract, and contain details and shapes that you recognize but can't quite place.
I'm not sure if it succeeds, what do you think?
The hand looks like a child's hand, methinks, and maybe the whole thing would be better off without it.

in comparing the two pictures, this hand looks less formed, more rounded, as if the hand was a balloon, rather than a flesh and bones sort of object. the forefinger, pinky and thumb look more solid in the other painting.
aside from that, I do agree with the landscape looking between something familiar and something abstract.

Thanks. I'm already reworking on this, covering the hand. I think it will be better off that way.
