This is the first drawing introducing Ed's design for "Ed, Edd and Eddy Working" (The 8th image).

It looks ridiculous, but if you keep in mind that the adults are pretty much giants in the cartoon and all the characters have the same size when they're elderly, then this should be logical.

Eddy was confirmed to be 12, and I'm almost sure Edd is 13 and Ed is 14.

In Eddy's wallet it said that he was 12 but he probably got older when the series continued so he might be 13 or 14; the same thing with Double D and Ed.

Ed alone is far from intelligent, so it already doesn't make sense he shares the same class/has the same age as Edd, who is a genius. He can only be older.

Just because Ed is taller doesn't mean he's older. He has a fast growth spurt. If they had different ages they wouldn't be in the same class let alone the same grade.
