Description
Guard duty in one of Ilvesia's border checkpoints consists of, according to Eljyedva, centuries of utter boredom interspersed with seconds of relative excitement when some crazy foreigner somehow makes it an objective to enter her cold and ever-gray country.During the long hours of inactivity, the girl has managed to tame and befriend a lonely crow, which she has named Kah.

I like this picture mostly, except perhaps the girl's lips, for reason which have been stated previously. I must ask, however, is there a story to the nation of Ilvesia, or is it just a name?

Ilvesia is just an ex-soviet-block-type nation I imagined for the sake of the little story.

I love this piece... but there is one thing about it that seems a little off.
You paid great attention to coloring and shading on the entire image, EXCEPT here smile. Which appears to have been left uncolored and unshaded. Considering your name for the peice.. it seems odd that you would have neglected coloring and shading on her lips and teeth.
Don't get me wrong.. I LOVE the piece.. but it would be just that much more awesome if you did more with her lips and teeth.

We normally get -25˚C (-40˚C with wind-chill) during winter, although temperatures have been abnormally warm this year...

oh, yes, strange winter/antipodean summer this year! even i managed to see BLUE skies in indonesia for the past week--a strange phenomenon, since usually it's filled white with smoke etc. is apocalypse coming??

La fille est très bien, mais le reste donne une dimension supplémentaire à l'ensemble. En plus, je suis sûr que tu as appris deux ou trois trucs en dessinant le décor...
