8B Kataraaa, from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I really like her. Not sure why, because she does have her insufferable moments, but she's strong, a good mother figure, and always tries to do her best. But I can understand why someone would hate her. xDI rather love that show. I'm re-watching the whole series and I just knew I had to do some fanart... I haven't done any fanart in a long longggg time.
I like her in her Fire Nation clothes, the reds and golds work so well with her color pallet.
Might turn into a series? Idk, I do really wanna draw Aang, Sokka and Toph someday~

Annnd... I guess I can see why the Zuko/Katara stuff has appeal. (even though I'm Aang/Katara all the way). I guess its exactly what you pointed out, she's strong and a good mother figure. In the series, Zuko was the underdog, full of pain, anger and revenge. Katara was the good soul that could put him at peace.

Gaah, I KNEW I was going to adore this when you were finished, she turned out awesome!
I feel like this is suuch a good rendition of Katara into your own style because it still LOOKS like her. You didn't alter her design at all, she still has the wide, innocent blue eyes, sweet face, even the the volume of her hair seems to be really accurate!
The colouring turned out awesome as well, her facial features are my favourite, and GAH I don't even know what else to say, I just love it!

LOL I tried my best to keep it looking like her, because I was worried since my style is so different from the cartoon it would end up looking nothing like her xD But I'm glad to see I did well!

Haha, I've never really been a big fan of Katara, but I guess she's okay. I've always loved Toph though, so independent and BA. xD;; Very nicely done drawing, I love how you did her hands and hair~ I've always liked her Fire nation outfit better because it didn't look as heavy. cB

Omg *luffs it* I myself am not a big Katara fan, but she has her good points like you said. I'm more of a toph fan, and sokka because I love how goofy he is. 
Ah yes, the Zutara fans *shipping ahoy!* I can "kinda" see it happening, but I personally am a cannon shipper. I think it's the whole "opposites attract" and those two are pure opposites, I mean come on...fire x water. Just....tread carefully when mentioning ships......A;TLAB is known to have one of the largest shipping wars out of most fandoms.

OH YEAH! Latest news on the Franchise. I've been hearing something about a new spin-off of the series, apparently it is going to be a little more mature than TLAB. Called "The Legend of Korra" *woot female lead* It sounds pretty awesome, people are already doing fanart even though you can only see her back in the image.

Yeah when you really think about it, it's kind of sad. I've read a book series that has that feeling *especially since the main leads in each book are related to each other* I was sad when the main character from the first book died in the second book. She was there for a good 3/4's of it though. :/
Who knows what it'll be like, but it will be nice to see the avatar universe back in action, I was kinda sad when the series ended. And hearing that the movie is kinda "Meh" drags it down a little.

Yeah, although I am an utter cannon shipper, I have a soft spot for Tokka *Sokka and Toph* though I know it's never gonna happen, I just think it'd be cute since they hint that Toph has a small crush on him. :3 Awww
There are crazy shippers in every fandom, hell even sailor moon, and the cast is practically all females *LOLYURILOL* I was never part of it, but I kept hearing about "The Great Shipping War" that went on about the Avatar characters. Craaazaaaay!

Suki just feels a bit bland for my taste, a kick ass warrior....but her personality just seems.....2d....maybe I'm reading into her to much...I dunno. I did like Yue....but I feel like the audience didn't really get to know her well enough before she died. Toph is just adorably bad ass, and her sarcastic remarks thrown at Sokka are awesome.
But yes, when I first started watching *I had mostly seen the Fanart* I was like...wait....why do they draw her with Zuko when it's obvious her and aang are pretty much the main *future* couple of the show? lol! >:3 Nothing against Zutara, but aangxkatara seem more plausible.
XD lmao! It's so true though, I mean, there IS already a yuri couple *cannon wise* and there are hints near the end of the series when Mars and Venus say "we don't need men" while posing closely to each other. *it was pretty sexy actually* but those hints are mostly in the manga.
Usagi and Mamoru are the main cannon, though in the last few books when he goes off to college *supposedly*, Seiya who although is a man in human form *but is a female in Sailor form* really cares deeply for Usagi, so you have a lot of people who ship them.
I was always kinda...meh on SeiyaXUsagi, I see it more as devotional adoration on his part *and friendship on hers* because she reminds him so much of their princess *seeing how she's a princess too...it's no wonder he made the connection* they have the same warm presence, so I think that draws him to her.
