Description
Recently I started digging visual effects and dynamics again, not in Maya this time. I used a SimCloth plugin for 3ds MAX and here is my first simulation. I have great fun playing with it!3ds MAX, Mental Ray and SimCloth plugin

Now you can finally spread your 3d wings outside of Maya.

hehe yeah man, actually I have always been better in 3ds MAX when it comes to light and render.
You know what...today I was showing Pianeta to my friends here in my home country and they were pretty impressed! When you gonna present the paper version of it ?

Probably in a few months maybe by christmas, I need to pound out a couple of isues with the last part of the 3rd chapter. But I am happy it is getting some nice feedback. I will post when it's going to be released.
Hope all is well with you!

Well my render output is png sequence and then I convert and compress in swf (a flash format, so it plays in your browser).

hehe yeah...well it depends on the cloth material though. that was fast response buddy!
Hey since you obviously know about the simcloth I want to ask something...do you know if speed of the simulation depends on the size of the cloth object? I mean, is it physically based ? This object after I simulate it, I saw it has 400 meters diameter...so you know same material and parameters on the same object but having 3 meters diameter will fall and wrap around the object differently.

the speed of the sim is only affected by the mesh resolution. so its will speed up if u have less verts in mesh. but u should keep the size close to real because that might affect the effect of the sim

Yeah I was thinking about that...size should matter. I mean if you look at that one its a bit slow...exactly if it would be a gigantic cloth...
hey I wandered are you somewhat related to evermotion ?
