I USE OPENCANVAS FOR LINES.
This is why theyre smooth.

lol you basicly skipped the entire colouring part, besides the fact it's in photoshop xD
Did you blur the outlines or the colours a bit? the first shade less image is a lot sharper.

Damn it i wish i had those two programs TT^TT where'd you get open canvas and photoshop 7?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
BluestreakFUS In reply to mmishee [2007-05-10 11:21:48 +0000 UTC]
Open Canvas 1.1 is freeware, Photoshop 7 is very pricy... if you buy it that is.

mmishee In reply to BluestreakFUS [2007-05-11 05:52:18 +0000 UTC]
do you know where i can get them both free but legally? o_o if there is such a place for that.

BluestreakFUS In reply to mmishee [2007-05-11 08:07:22 +0000 UTC]
Open canvas: [link]
Photoshop from Amazon.com: [link]
And you can always download a trial version of photoshop and then pay for it when the trial time has expired.
I think you can buy it in stores as well, jsut don't know which.
As for me, I haven't bought it, but they're not losing any money on me, as I would never buy it. No way I'm paying $600+
And if you feel the same but don't like the idea of being illegal(not that I do), you can always download The GIMP, it's a very sophisticated freeware program that does most of the stuff Photoshop does. You can download it from here: [link]
Another cool freeware program is Inkscape, though it's better for inking purposes than coloring, stick with GIMP for coloring
Inkscape can be downloded here: [link]
Glad to be of help

Photoshop is way too expensive for me, im doing a bit of research to see how i can get it another way 83
I've heard a bit of The GIMP in my research, is it free as well? I might go check that out.
Thanku so much! you have no idea how much this helps

BluestreakFUS In reply to BluestreakFUS [2007-05-11 08:12:47 +0000 UTC]
And the trial version of Photoshop can be downloaded from adobe.com
Oh! And I should mention as well, You don't really need Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS3 has almost everything that PS 7 has, and you don't really need everything in PS 7.

Great tutorial, but I have a question. How did you "extract" the line art onto a different layer in photoshop?

I have one question,
Do you have any problems with 'lag' in O.C?
Like the line storks falling short of where your mouse/tablet drew?

OOH!! You use OC, too!! <333
o_o Hmm.. You use fairly thick lines, interesting.
I usually use .7 or sometimes 1.3... >> But that's just me.
Actually using thicker lines might be a little more versatile. X3 I'll have to try it sometime.
