Gwen, Ben and Kevin from Ben10: Alien Force! Well since it's me, Gwen gets to be front and center!

I decided to draw this like a comic cover, using as much of my style while keeping as close to the original cartoon designs. I like the challenge of trying my hand at interpreting known characters, making the characters recognizable, but not restricting myself to previously established designs.

When reinterpreting characters, it's very important to understand and respect the existence of the original versions, not only to translate a character to an updated interpretation, but also to be able to draw the original design, if need be. Flexibility is a key skill.

Speaking of reinterpretation, fans of Ben10 would know that Ben's watch, the Omnitrix, displays an image of the alien form that Ben is going to transform into. I purposely left that part out for this lineart, since I plan on drawing my interpretation of that alien on a separate piece of paper. I'm also trying to decide one which Alien Force alien I'll use for the final illustration!
