A special request from He asked me to make a picture of Ace and Annie, the two unsung characters of Batman: The Animated Series, and Justice League. He wanted them as friends or lovers. I made this picture of both, sitting and hugging. You can think anything about them and how you view them, but for me, they have one thing in common: pain and suffering.

Both were victims; one, the product of paranoid government officials who wanted to create their own version of the Justice League, so they can be used to "fight" evil. It only ended in a complete failure. The other one, a creature created by a former actor turn mutant, thanks to the side effects of a cream created by the oportunist Roland Daggett , resulting in the creation of Clayface. He created Annie to explore and find a way to escape; eventually, she will run away. She will be rescued by Robin (Tim Drake), but she will end her life, absorbed by Clayface, because She is part of Clayface.

As for Ace, after leaving the Royal Flush Gang and putting the Joker into a "psychic coma", she will go and run havoc, creating artificial versions of the RFG, until reaching critical, to the point of developing an aneurysm, that will cause her death. Thanks to Batman, Ace manage to control and stop her powers, and dying in peace, without Batman using the special device provided by Amanda Waller (as seen in the episode of Justice League Unlimited, "Epilogue", aka. the true origin of Terry Mcginiss, the Batman Beyond).
