Correction of Typos. Reposting also due to adding more details to this description (I was really tired like night so now I just want to reiterate what I talking about a bit):

A resentful villain, the Lobe, had a bone to pick with Dr. Drakken (The lobe is actually a villain from Freakazoid, but since "Integration" is a Freakazoid / Kim Possible, crossover, I figured that since 'The Lobe' is a mad scientist, he may have run across Drakken a few times way back when Drakken used to be a villain. He and the Lobe never got along and while Drakken became successful with his inventions and is considerably MORE brilliant, the psychopathic Lobe vowed revenge. It doesn't help that in their earlier years, The Lobe also hates Drakken because Dr. D called the lobe out when he realized that some much of Lobe's work was plagerized and/or unoriginal/copied.Needless to say, the Lobe despises both Freakazoid and Dr. Drakken with a passion).

The Lobe attacked the Doctor's home during 4th of July, blowing up the home which contained Drakken and one of his eldest sons (he and shego have 4 children altogether, two sets of fraternal twins). Luckily, Shego was away at the airport with their youngest twins to pick up one of the eldest twins at the airport, since that son had flown in overnight from across the country where he was attending university to come home and visit with his folks over the summer/holiday.

With Drakken's new plant powers, he has a strong healing factor and survives the explosion, though critically injured- He is impaled on a splintered wood beam and is thus unable to heal without removing it first. He's delirious with pain, suffering a broken arm and many other broken bones (cracked ribs and a collapsed lung), cuts/bruises, and lacerations, not to mention a concussion (this is an older drawing, done way back when my ideas for Drakken's powers were much different. Now, if I were to redraw/rewrite this piece, Drakken wouldn't be wearing a cast/sling or bandages at all since his healing factor can allow him to recover from fatal wounds much the same as Wolverine from the X-Men does. so, following the explosion, he'd be fully healed within the hour).

Anyway, as Drakken is slowly healing, due to the awkward position of being impaled, he's unable to remove the beam from his midsection himself without the aid of his vines (the vines are handy as extra when he needs more than the two hands he's got to do things, so it makes work around his laboratory less of a hassle!) The pain from his injuries is making it near impossible to focus. However, he happens to look over, blinking away the blood dripping from his forehead and blurring his vision. (you can tell I've had this scene playing out in my head for quite some time, considering the level of detail I'm going into...) He sees his son's hand peeking out from beneath the rubble and pales at the sight of an expanding puddle of blood beneath it. One of his two older twins is close to dying and he knows that if he doesn't free himself, he'll lose his son forever. ...So originally, I had this son die, but I felt that that might be too harsh for the direction I want to take Integration now that I've had time to think about it in depth. This old drawing just has Drakken sulking in the hallway at the hospital outside his son's hospital as the young man struggles to survive his injuries... Drakken is helpless and overcome with grief and is sitting outside because it pains him to see that his tough wife, Shego, weeping inconsolably at her son's bedside. Drakken stares of into space until the large shadow of his cousin, Royce (aka Cave Guy) obscures his vision of the floor. Drakken looks up and reaches up as Royce leans down to comfort him, offering him a hand to invite his younger cousin to take a walk and get a much needed cup of coffee from the Hospital cafeteria.

sheesh, here I am correcting my mistakes and I'm still making typos!! I wish there was a way to edit comments on this site....hm, I should post that to the site forum since I AM a beta tester, afterall...
