I also forgot, these go to ~/.Xdefaults (or ~/.Xresources if You prefer):
Xft.antialias: true
Xft.hinting: false
Xft.hintstyle: 0
Xft.dpi: 75
Xft.rgba: none
... and in the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file:
gtk-font-name = "Ubuntu 9"
... and in the ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini file:
[Settings]
gtk-font-name = Ubuntu 9
gtk-xft-antialias = 1
gtk-xft-hinting = 0
gtk-xft-hintstyle = none
gtk-xft-rgba = rgb
